  1. Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone out there owns both the 2500 and 3000 Ci4 reels. I read that the spools on each are interchangable, so if you need added line capacity you can throw on a 3000 spool or vice versa. Is this the only difference? If so, why is the 3000 about $40 more??

pairing the reel up with a 7'2" Xfast Cumara for drop shotting and bottom bouncing.

Can't figure out which model to go with! Any input is appreciated

  2. I totally missed this thread.

As previously mentioned, my gal and I are planning to get a dog, but cant agree on breed. She wants a golden retreiver I want an american bulldog. LOL I've wanted one since I was a kid (Homeward bound was my favourite movie).

Anyways, I've done a tonne of research, just wondering if any american bulldog owners could chime in with their experiences with the dogs ie. temperment, trainability, intelligence, etc.

My biggest problem is that she finds them to "look" a little intimidating

also, anyone know of a good reputable breeder in Ontario ?

  3. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/dailybrew/border-seizure-invasive-asian-carp-alarms-officials-212351944.html

The seizure of more than six tonnes of Asian carp by Canada Border Services agents this month has alarmed experts worried about the big fish's potential threat to the Great Lakes.

The live fish were discovered and seized in two separate shipments on the Canadian side of the Ambassador Bridge linking Detroit and Windsor, Ont., according to Postmedia News.

"The Americans have put $78 million into trying to detect where the fish are and to make sure they don't get into the Great Lakes at Chicago," said Hugh MacIsaac, an expert on invasive aquatic species at the University of Windsor.

"And here on the other hand we still have people shipping these things around as though it's legal and advisable, and it's neither."

The Great Lakes Fishery Commission says Asian carp are "a significant threat" to the lakes. They can grow up to almost a metre in length and weigh up to 40 kilograms, compete for food with native species and would eventually become the dominant fish in the lakes.

Asian carp have moved steadily northward after escaping from a Mississippi River fish farm that flooded in the early 1990s. Despite attempts to block their progress with things like electric barriers, the carp have been spotted about 65 kilometres from Lake Michigan.

Video of Asian carp jumping into boats has been a YouTube staple for years.

It's been against the law to possess live Asian carp in Ontario since 2005.

Customs agents did not give details about the seizures because the investigation was still open. But the discoveries spurred MacIsaac to wonder if border agents were catching all the shipments. He called for heavy fines against violators. The largest fine so far was $60,000 for a second offence.

The Detroit News reported that despite the 2005 ban, demand remains high for the fish in Toronto's Asian markets.

"The concern, of course, is that the carp will get entrenched here," Jolanta Kowalski, a spokeswoman with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, told the Detroit News. "And they've got a history that's not a good one in terms of what they do once they're established."

  4. Not a big fan of wilson, but the leafs are now sitting in 2nd place in the division, behind a clearly more talented squad, and ahead of several teams with clearly more talented teams. I say he has earned a job til the end of his contract...

    x3

why in the world would you fire him when his system seems to be coming together???!

  5. What could possibly feel good about losing to Carolina???? :rofl2: :rofl2: :w00t:

What pace are they on in their last 7 games??? :rofl2::w00t:

    They are on a basement pace....as usual... :rofl2: :rofl2: :w00t: :w00t:

Kessel the one man team... :w00t::rofl2: you can tell it's all about kessel just by watching his attitude after a goal...good luck with that..... :w00t::rofl2:

hardly a one man team; Lupul is 3rd in scoring right now. :wallbash:

i luv how all the leaf haters feel the need to chime in with useless comments and zero hockey knowledge.

Carolina's got solid goaltending with guys like skinner and staal up front... they arent a team full of plugs like the sens...

  6. Nice work Brandon!

Your boat was on fire Wednesday! I saw you guys net quite a few on your milk run. Bondy bait is my new fav for sure. Jigging for these fish is AWESOME! I’m not sure what's more tiring, bouncing Bondy's off the bottom for hours, or battling giant fish for seconds at a time.

  7. Saying LSC was an impressive fishery would be an understatement. I've never seen a sonar show so much activity over miles of water. BIG props out to Bob Devine, this was the first time I've ever had the pleasure of fishing with a pro and can say with confidence that it definitely won’t be my last. Spending a day on a boat with someone with that much pedigree in the fishing world is an incredible learning experience. Picking Bob's brain on the water was almost as much fun as hunting down these giants.

"If you wanna take in scenery and mosquitoes go north; if you wanna catch fish come to LSC"

    Bob ROCKS!

  8. I would launch out of Woodsbay Marina, right next door to Moon River Marina. Moon River Marina is a RIP OFF! James Grisdale runs the show at Woodsbay Marina, hes an awesome guy with plenty of knowledge to share on the fishing. PM for his number. The fishing can be tough for most species at times, but I tend to find the occasional bigun in Captain Allan Strait heading into Iron City Bay. the boating in this area is about as sketchy as it gets so proceed with caution!
