  1. Is there any beginners info anyone can share? I've typically been investing with an advisor that my parents have been with for 30+ years and I've just sold my other house so I have a rather large sum that I'd like to have me making money but I'm thinking I'd like to be a little more hands on, or at least give it a shot... I've maxed out my TFSA, as well as my wife's and do monthly RRSP contributions so now I'm wondering how to best use the remainder. Anyone use Questrade?
  2. Good time to buy Boeing stocks?
  3. Lmao gotta love that... A guy with nothing to lose tells it how it is
  4. Definitely a pretty crap thing to do to someone who did so much, and put up with so much bull from Garth snow not putting a proper team around him.
  5. That draisaitl goal is embarrassing
  6. I would actually love to have this... My dad has a collection of old leafs stuff and this would be a great addition, too bad his name is Bill and not Matt, though ?
  7. I've been paying attention to Freddy lately and for all the praise he gets, he could be so much better. He makes stupendous saves basically every night, and the ones that end up in the net are completely stoppable and simple goals (for the most part)
  8. Probably not 17, I was thinking more 16, as I believe a max contract allowed is 20% of the total cap. Which is roughly 16 mill
  9. Yes, but they are only paying Crosby 8.7 mill a year... He could make double that. Plus Kessel is only in the books to them for 6.8 because we're eating 1.2mill of that 8mill a year, that was the only bad part about that trade.
  10. I think guys like Connor brown and Hyman are probably gone, looking at some of the projected roster trees that's what helps tip things into their favour, having guys like zaitsev at 4.5, Connor brown at 2.1, Hyman at 3 mill... It's too much for what they bring to the team, I love Hyman he's always in the right spot and plays a great hard game, but he's got no finish... He only pots the easy goals anyone could score lol
  11. That sounds like an issue with the design, a heat exchanger gets hotter than a hot water coil will if tied into your hot water tank (as mine is) Anything above 2500 sq ft I would consider either a larger coil, or more reheat coils at branch runs, but that's more of a commercial setup than a residential setup.
  12. I would consider looking at an air to water heat pump instead of a furnace, they are much more efficient than a typical gas furnace, using a water coil instead of a heat exchanger. You also don't run the risk of having any products of combustion in the house like holes in the heat exchanger. I have one in my house and love it, it's original to my house, installed in 1994 and now a defunct company called Aquatherm. There is a company that has been around for a while you should look into called Ecologix. Built in Cambridge. http://ecologix.ca/products/cold-climate-heat-pumps/air-to-water-heat-pump/
  13. Nylander had himself a great game, could have gotten 2 goals with a bit of luck... 3 helpers is a good start
  14. Lmao too funny seeing Chiarelli get fired... It was a few days late. That goalie signing is just mind boggling, 27 games of NHL experience and you give out 4.5 mill for 3 years??? What on earth is that about
  15. Anyone who booed Gardiner is a POS... I'm not saying he's not frustrating to watch at times, but that's not right. Gardiner literally prevented a goal with a good physical play in front of the net when Andersen was out of position later in the game. The selective memories have always been strong in this fanbase and it's embarrassing.
  16. A lot of people who really go after the "edge to edge consistency" do an ice bath quickly after cooking before searing. Works well!
  17. Inconsistent in the way fines/suspensions are handed out... Parros isn't very consistent it seems... Shanny and Stephane quintal did a decent job of it I think.
  18. I'd be fine with losing brown, he's either having an off year or just stalled, he seems to be not as effective as last year... Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares, Rielly, Andersen are locks for me to still be on the team in 2021 and to be protected... Kadri probably protected, depends on how his season leading into 2021 is and his production from now till then. Liljegren might be worthwhile to protect by that time, Dermott, Holl are potentials to bloom into great D men as well.... won't be easy to pick the 7-8 slot but the upside is we can only lose one.
  19. Easiest way to smoke cheese is to use the cabinet, without the heat element, and instead use a smoke tube or wood chip tray One brand that is well known is A-Maze-N they have a range of products that suit cold smoking for cheap, comparing to whole units
  20. Marner will not get 10. Dubas would rather let him sit, and 10 is a huge ask when you have guys like Seguin and kucherov not even making that much, and they have more scoring capabilities than Marner does, as he excels as a playmaker
  21. Gotta wonder what Marner is going to ask for, gone are the days of 6.5 as many projected last year. Cap has been announced at 83mill so a 3.5 mill increase, if it continues at that trajectory the term on Nylanders deal is good for us. I just hope we can get Marner for 8 or less, and Matthews at 12 or less
  22. I think they'll hang on to him if the salary cap goes to the upper limit of what it's projected to be, they've got Rielly and Kadri locked up on team friendly deals, and marleau is gone after next year that makes space for AM and Marner. Gardiner is potentially gone, unless he takes something in the 5 mil range I think. Zaitsev is going to be packaged and traded to just rid themselves of his contract. Hainsey will be gone after this year as well or come back for cheap. If the leafs go deep in the playoffs it will be self serving as it will help them generate more revenue to push the cap up. Would be nice if Montreal and NYR were better than they are because they generate big bucks too.
  23. I dunno about you, but I'd be pretty upset if JT only hit the 60's for points in the coming few years. With the lineup the way it is, him playing 2nd line C with marner (with Auston is out obv #1) and seeing PP time... He should be well into the 80's and beyond for at least the next 5 years. If he only does 60's then I guess we owe nylander 11 mil instead of 8 lol.
  24. Pretty dominant game by the leafs... Now they just need to learn consistency. Rielly was huge, Gards was good tonight too as well as Dermott and ozhiganov... They seemed to calm the play when needed.
