  1. Slammers rock, so do gulp leeches (there an echo in here)

Another go to for me is the ole' thin bass pro tender tubes.

Been dropshotting worms, brush hogs and lizards around docks and on weedlines for Largies for sometime now when i can put the jig rod down. Usually smack more SMB though! Will be again Saturday! woohoo..

  2. My father raised me to respect women, most of all mother nature.

    Very sad.

Around 2001 we got caught out on Simcoe, experience on big water and a 20ft bass boat with dual bilges got us behind an island, unfortunately Lady Simcoe took a few people that day. Flash storm's can catch you quick!

  3. Not a huge soccer fan, but I jump on the World Cup bandwagon.

Funny raf about the cards, in hockey a guy gives ya alittle slap on the cheek, you turn around, get the number and line him up on a later shift. I guess in soccer the only thing to do is roll around, wince in pain and if a card is given, well, you've got him back.

Unless, they truly are hurt? :whistling:

  4. Ok, it's yours. It's in Nigeria right now, so send me a money transfer for shipping and we're good to go!

Ok ok, it's really in Pickering, but can bring it next week to downtown TO, let me know. Actually, how would I explain a tach in my pocket at the G 20 security gates. ;)

  5. I have a BC Rich 6 acoustic, "eyes closed-ears open" buy as Craig said. Best bang for my buck IMO, just love it!

Also have a 12 Takamine, love the full sound of the 12. Will admit I prefer playing my friends Yamaha 12 though!

Go with the 6 before a 12 for sure.

  6. On a boys fishing weekend a guy was getting on my nerves. He had jeans on that were all frayed at the bottom, so I lite them on fire at the campfire. To get his revenge he put fish guts on the exhaust manifold of my truck.

It was a 2 hour 4x4 out, turns out, I was lead truck and the smell was worse behind me. :thumbsup_anim:

    Kids eh!

  7. Harrison that is a very kind offer and I'd love to get out with you but I am already comitted this Sunday and if the weather man is right, we'd be dodging thunder storms anyway. Any other time that works for you?

No worries, I am pretty busy from now on bud. With bass opener coming up and fishing a few tournaments this year, getting back into the game, time is gone.

Raf and Sinker both hit the nail on the head with their guidance on the uni uni. Sinker even gave you the area we'd be fish'n Cliff.

    Good luck.

  8. Thanks a ton for the replies and guidance! Truly appreciated.

Being a die hard angler and having guided in the GTA area waters for a few years I am addicted to the variety and diversity we have here. I guess losing that is my main anxiety. However after reading some of the replies here I am pretty sure I could find most of what I am looking for in the Ottawa area!

If I accept the offer I'll sure miss the trib fishing in my back yard, but I am sure I could fill the void!

    Again, replies greatly appreciated!

Craig, yes your reply and the others sure DID help! Cheap beer too, oh oh!

    Thanks,

    Phil

  9. Actually Phil you're incorrect.

The Leafs are tied with both the Kings and Blues now for the longest cup drought.

    42 years and counting.

They've got a ways to go to best the record. I believe the Rangers went 54 years before winning in '94.

Thanks Mike. Without researching I wonder if the leafs revenue is the same or more then the other 2 teams combined.

  10. Kind of a weird question, but this is a huge factor in my decision. It sounds like I might have a solid job offer coming from Ottawa.

I have never fished there. I see reports and know some guys who tell me it's pretty good fishing out that way.

How does it compare to opportunites in the GTA (Kawarthas, Simcoe etc vrs ottawa river, St lawrence etc.) I assume Lake O and tribs will be left behind.

Lots of water to fish with in an hour or so? Is it quieter? etc..

Anyone here lived/fished in both these areas and could share some experience?

    Thanks in advance.

  11. Thanks Johnny, but don't fish for a living anymore so I don't consider myself a pro, just a friend who could maybe offer something different to try.

Wil, this could work as I am still on the hunt for a boat. Maybe we could all set something up!

"Cliff Walleye Challenge" The CWC event winner(Cliff by default)buys the beer! Win win all around. :thumbsup_anim:

  12. You must know a few old time trappers up your way TJ with some antique gear laying around ??

Replace that motor with a brand new shiny one , then hang it in plain view and lay a couple old bear traps around the area with a few leaves scattered over top to conceal them.

Betcha those stinkin thieves won't come back again after stepping into one of those things.

    Agreed Lew.

Simple sign "Enter at own risk, property well protected. Owner not responsible for any injury that will occur" :whistling:

  13. Or maybe a racoon fight....sounds like someone jumping up and down on a rusted farmers fence

My first thought.. and solid description!

Maybe a deer, but I think it sounds more like a snort/whine. Scares the snot out of ya in pitch black and dead quiet walking to your stand I tell ya!
