  1. It is not about multiple fish for me. It is all about a different presentation.

Just a theroy, but the pike we fished were big water fish (Lake O). Used to chasing schools of bait. I assume this is why these rigs out fished other presentations in this certain scenerio.

As most predators change over to baitfish in the fall I think this presentation will shine as others mentioned

  2. Remember, the target market for this vehicle has never even seen a 60s/70s Dart, much less driven one. They won't make the comparison.

Good point, plus the folks who have seen a 60s/70s Dart will be talking about it.

  3. I haven't fished it for bass yet, but I have for Pike.

For pike we used swimbaits, inline spinners, and 4" grubs on football heads.

In our experience with these rigs we outfished buddies boats fishng the same water each time.

I like them, but it will take a while to get used to chucking them all day.

  4. Hey all, here is a quick video of a Tiger Muskie caught while fishing smallies on lighter line. Sinclair mentioned it is a thread he posted a week or so ago.

Going through some footage I made this small video of the fight and thought I would share. (still figuring out the editing side of things, :))

    Good Fishing,

  5. Wow, cool video. Nicely done.

With the angle you are fishing from in the yak I think you really need to beef up the rod, add some length and use braid IMO. You have to WHAM that hook home. Tough as you ave little leverage in a yak but I really don't think you set hard enough, you just liftd up on them and the thick aguge hook never got in. When a fish blows up, lower the rod to the water then slam it back, try to get the fish up out of the junk and hold the rod high. You need a real heavy rod as a big fish will dig in the junk and if you don't get it up then your pulling it through a jungle.

This is how I fish in a bass boat standing up and it can be a challenge, can only imagine in a yak.

I use a 8ft H, 65lb braid, and a very hard hookset to get the fish up and surfing back to the boat.

    Keep the video coming

  6. Always have a great time fishing with Will. Lots of laughs and fish. His grilled pork sandwiches were awe inspiring.

Fished some new water on a lake I fished for years, lots of the same structure, we just had to dial in and pattern the what, where, and why certain areas had fish. Once we did that with the help of "Eddie", we got into them.

My hat clashes with my lovely shirt? I thought it was a perfectly matched accessory.

As for finding simply smashing shirts as these, one must be sponsored, then approved to join the "Angling Lodge" to get the password. Then and only then, the journey may begin.

  7. All the Kawartha Lakes walleye population have taken there turn at crashing. First was Rice made a huge come back, Sturgeon took it's turn and now is the best it's been in my life time. Tri Lakes still is down.

    And now it's Scugog turn.

All these crashes seem to occur at the crappie peak and then walleyes rebound. Hopefully Tri Lakes and Scugog do the same.

Good observation about the crappie peak, never looked at it like that. I see where you are coming from.

  8. Hey All,

I was just sent this article.

Maybe it is finally time to close the ice for walleye.

We used to do very well on the bog in the spring for walleye. It's been a few years since I've fished it for eyes, but friends of mine have and the reports over the last couples years have not been good at all.

  9. I tried Cliff, but all I got back was this auto responder from your email.

"Sorry, I am very Busy right now and can not get to your email. I got these pill from some nice fellas overseas and now the wife won't leave me alone.. she's driving me crazy. Good news though, I am now named properly for the right reasons!

    Good fishing,

    BIG Cliff"

  10. Sorry to hear Fishgreg, very frustrating. We hear it quite often in my line of biz.

Even with USPS you can get dinged Tax and Duties. I hear some folks get it without the extra fees, but mine seldom do. Especailly with a larger item like a rod, they always seem to pick it out.

  11. I watch a lot of John Stewart and Stephen Colbert, and sometimes you just set it up too well! That being said, thanks for the remarks.

    AND

I just got my first centre pin outfit as a grad present!!!

I wish they were around when I was a kid. Mom let me watch Bizarre, that explains a bit about me.

Congrats and stick with fishing kiddo, there is nothing like it IMO.
