was thinking the same thing when I went down to Punta Cana 2 years ago. I did some research and found out that the DR isn't the place to go fishing. Apparantly the guiding services aren't the greatest and neither is the fishing. The place to fish is Cuba. The DR is not the safest place, but when I walked the beach there were a lot of locals fishing in the water...

yup.. i had the same deal.. wife signed the paper.. didnt even mention anything to me until i was going through the bills and saw it.. posted here and did my due research and it wasnt for us.. it was a pain to cancel but i was within the 30 days the allow.. it actually caused a bit of an arguement with me and the wife because she willingly signed something affecting the bills i pay, without talking to me about it.. she swore the guy told her he was from the gas company.. i was skepticle, but i took her word for it..

regardless i get these jokers showing up at least once a month, they always claim to represent 'your power and gas company'.. i always ask them 'you work for both?', 'well which one do you work for then?'.. they ALWAYS show up during dinner.. and they're extremely pushy.. to the point of trying to force themselves into the house.. well they're like that when the wife answers.. they back off pretty quick when i make my way to the door..

i always enjoy your reports.. this one was no exception.. thanks for sharing and have a safe trip home..

Sorry guys, I think I may have got this thread wrong. What I had hooked up was a meter and switch that was hooked up to my A/C unit, in-line with it's power source. When demand became high, they could TURN OFF MY A/C unit remotely, until electricity demand dropped.

Now, I didn't pay over 2 grand to have someone else have their hand on my A/C switch!

Hope I didn't confuse anyone other then myself!LOL

Hey G, I had one of those meters hooked up to my house when I bought it. I had my air conditioning guy remove it when he replaced my unit this summer. There is no way in H E double hockey sticks that I was going to allow someone else to turn off my a/c when ever they wanted.

It's sitting on the garage floor right now.

Next, they will be locking our car keys in a special box in your house and only letting you drive when the air quality meets their expectations. That'll be the day!

they put mine in a couple weeks ago.. how they heck can they just shut off the AC? wouldnt they have to kill power to the whole house?

and if the time comes that they do kill the power to the house because my AC is running... i'll probably blow a gasket and someone will more than likely get hurt...

well after all the sweet reports i've read from you and your wife... i had built you up in my mind as a sort of enigma.. then after the poor showing saturday, i'm thinking bly might be catching all the fish and you're sneaking a few pics of hers

just wanted to take a minute to post something other than a fish filled thread, or a bashing of merlands..

i was a little apprehensive about heading out for a weekend without knowing anyone and without knowing if i'd get on a boat to fish saturday..

well the apprehenion was for nothing.. everyone treated me like they'd known me forever.. truly a classy bunch..

i gotta thank gerritt who went out of his way to sort me out a spot on a boat for the weekend.. and with that gotta thank Ted.. you're an awesome guy for taking me out.. it was a pleasure to fish with you, and cliff on sat... and saving me and cranksbait from getting soaked in his boat on sunday.. i wont forget it..

now for the apology.. when i got home, started unpacking my kit.. i noticed something stinking in my tackle bag.. cracked it open and found the culprit.. which i will also use as a scapegoat for the boat getting skunked for two days.. inside my plastic lunch bag was none other than a banana, packed by my wife.. so we can all blame the skunking on me.. or better yet, my wife..

despite the skunking i had a great time, and wont hesitate to get to future gtg's.. i'm just going to have to make sure the washrooms are CLEARLY marked to avoid any close calls.. corey almost got an early morning shower on sunday. hah..

Ok its a Samsung LN-T4042H TV and a Samsung HT-X-40 Home Theatre system. The Tv sound works but I can't get any sound out of the home theatre. I have a Digital Audio cable coming off my Expressvu into my Home theatre and a S cable going from my Expressvu to my TV. Also the only way to get picture on the TV is to have a co ax from the expressvu to the tv. The light on my Expressvu digital spot is red but the Home theatre is not

 

I dunno its very hard to explain this on a Computer

make sure your audio out is set for digital on the express view box.. dunno bout the ht-x40 but see if you have to assign the audio channel to the dig. coax input..

great thread idea.. we just got our first dog three weeks ago.. i dont imagine he'll compete with your guys dogs in the running, swimming, hunting, or anything else that requires any form of strenuous activity.. but he'll probably lead the way in farting and snoring.. he's already mastered the art of clearing a room.. here's Magnus, my english bulldog:

i dont know a hell of a lot about this stuff but here's what i do know

depends on your tv.. i know that i can get 1080p through component cables on my Aquos..

some tv's will do the upconvert for ya...

progressive and interlaced are both scanned side to side top to bottom, but on the interlaced (i think) every 60th of a second every other line is scanned.. and it alternates every 60th of a second.. i'm sure someone can give a more detailed explaination, that just how i understood it works..

had the same thing happen with my mustang back in the day.. i just took two paper clips, wedged them in and pulled the rest of the key out.. actually happened twice, second time i was able to pull it out with some small tweezers..
