  1. He is not on Satellite, the OP is on cable. Most notable Cogeco. They compress the less desirable (based on viewers) channels to make room for the more watched channels, they only have so much bandwidth available on their pipes.

This is why some channels look great! and others look like crap.

welcome to the world of cable.

    True enough...

  2. Hmmm, mine is an LG too. Where is this mode you speak of?

I can access mine by using a Q.Menu button..

I then have a resolution option , I go to "select by channel" which also has all possible inputs ( AV 1,2 ,RGB 1,2 HDMI 1,2,3 etc)

and then choose HDMI 1.. and I make sure that it's on 1080P

I make sure that it's the same in every MODE (game, flat ,cinema..)

  3. You have obviously made numerous attempts raise awareness about cormorants. What impact have you seen on the fishery?

I'm with Jocko in this one..

As a lifelong Nipissing resident and angler ...

Impact: when I was 10 years old I was able to walk 1 block away from my home after school and fish from shore.. bring back a limit of 6 Walleye in about 30 minutes anyday of the week...during the summer I would spend all week fishing and was able to catch fish after fish...not just (Nipissing's golden nugget)Walleye...my catches would vary everyday...from Smallies , Redhorses, Pike , Muskie,Sturgeon and all sorts of coarse fish along with an abundant amount of Eyes. :thumbsup_anim:

Now 23 years later,I bring my kids to the very spot that used to be so successful. we sometimes spend all day down there and see 4 fish all day. :(

Every species of fish that dwells in Nipissing has taken a substantial hit. :stretcher:

Now this is just one little anecdote... multiply that by 6000+ local anglers .. and now we have a problem..

I can assure you that anglers have a large role to play in the problem..

Some might say that it's cyclical :dunno:

I do know this ...in the late 70's and early 80's there were no flocks of 1000+ Cormorants in the cycle.

  4. I don't know what kind of TV you bought .. but..

My LG has an option .. depending on the (cinema, sport, game, flat, media)MODE it's in, it automatically switches itself from 1080P to 720P resolution...

My digital music channels automatically set themselves to 720P since there is no picture.sound quality doesn't change. *Most others are at 1080P... my Discovery and Nat/Geo... CMT and WILD has went to 720P for some reason.. I had to reset them manually.

  5. CORNWALL = Benson Auto Parts........It's their home base.

I KNOW that they can get them or prolly have 'em in stock.. I used to work for them and sold a TON or more of chains...prolly set you back around 150.00$

    Have the counterperson call Arbrobec

  6. Extension of older technology..

It reminds me of the 'ol Doxford engines with 2 crankshafts..

Amazing HP and torque... limited applications though.

Very cool concept using one crank...

I wouldn't expect this engine in any upcoming vehicle line up.

But a variation could easily apply to small engines..30*-45* V-Twin maybe...It would depend on RPM's vs HP /LBS/Torque..I'd guess.

  7. Can't you go measure the unit at the lot? :dunno:

I once heard ... add 8' to the length of the boat.

My 14's tongue isn't a swing away and is 3' long and my 30'rude is about 18".. that's 4 1/2 "... I assume that your motor is WAY bigger and the tongue is probably longer.

  8. Hello neighbor..Welcome aboard!! :thumbsup_anim:

We (Dad and I) used to "noose" them with snare wire and a 5-7" sucker minnow.. no hooks. worked like a charm... I haven't tried it

in a while , but was very successful in the past.

'Kinda like snaring a wabbit... Many gar in the West Arm.. the whole of Nipissing for that matter...
