Well, We got up to nipissing and fished Friday thru Sunday and caught over 60 fish, mostly walleye, but had some pike and perch mixed in and of course one puppy! Fished two spots, one was 8-12 FOW and the second was 18-20 FOW and the deeper water produced more fish, which is weird because most fish in the past came from the shallow water especially around dusk and dawn! Most fish were caught on jigs and spoons, with a few fish caught on dead sticks and tip-ups. Friday and Saturday were pretty consistent but sunday was slow with the barometer rising and the colder temps setting in. All in all was a great weekend with the 3 couples and our annual trip. PS. Wormdunker, I have a showdown 5.6 and my wife has the Ice45, and although I do like my showdown and have had it for 4 years now, my next purchase will definetly be the Ice 55! Has a few more bells and whistles than the 45 and I have used one out on Quinte. They are awesome! Having said that if I win the lottery, I would also look at the Marcum LX 7 which gives you the best of both worlds! Cheers, EL

Doesn't look too bad! With the -15 tonight and the low of -9 on Wednesday, it should tighten up a bit! Will be up with the wife Thursday at 12:00 and the rest of the gang (2 other couples) show up Thursday evening, and fish until Monday morning! Can't wait!!!! Cheers, EL

Hello all, Got introduced to the site from Nipfisher from the OOD forum and thought I would join! I am an avid hard water angler and have been doing it for over 20 years. I generally fish Nipissing, Quinte and Simcoe for the most part and I mostly target walleye. I usually get out 8-10 times a season and enjoy taking my family for several of those outings. We are from the Grand Valley, ON area and we also do a lot of hunting for Turkey, deer and waterfowl. Looking forward to the conversations and new friendships in the near future!
