  1. The ignition likely needs to be grounded at the switch in order to activate the coils. Do you have a wiring diagram of the ignition? You can always just punch a screwdriver into the key grab onto the key with some vice grips and break the pins then it will work with any key. I had to do that on my old K car one time. It might have a clutch kill sensor on it, if the clutch isn't pulled in even in neutral it won't start. You would really need to post the model of the bike to get started on something.really if you get an ignition wiring diagram somene should be bale to identify. cross those to wires and you bike will be in Start. you can usually install a toggle switch inline instead of a key and it should work. Thats all an ignition is. is a toggle switch. for a car its a momentary toggle for the start. I am guessing yours is a 3 position ignition off, acc, run. Cars are Off Acc, Run, Start. a bit more complicated.

Basically you just need to remove the key ignition, cut the wires and go to crappy tire and buy any old 3 position key then install it.

  2. 14 for me that was always the number I picked for hockey. One year I got stuck with 13... thats the year I broke my collar bone when I was cutting into the net from the right wing, got tripped and hit the post.... I did score though.. Well thats what they all told me anyway... haha got my bell rung good on tat one.

  3. Here is a follow up email from lowrance...

you can play with the contrast setting, this is the sensitivity setting on this model. Fish on this model will appear more as dots as opposed to arches. The brighter the dot the larger the fish. DSI models are not recommended for still fishing, we would rather go with a traditional sonar in this instance.

Thank you for choosing Navico products!

Oh well for 110 bucks, I will still give it a whirl for ice fishing anyway with the transducer pointed in the right direction this time. Gonna have to fab up a mount though for sure as I am not gonna sit there with my hand in the water holding the thing in the right direction. I am hoping this will work good for open water as It'll be mounted in the boat. I do alot of putting around at low speeds looking for structure so it should be great for that.

  4. Thats how it is supposed to go. Its long like that on purpose. if you hook it up to the suntion thingy you can see its supposed to be vertical not horrizontal. Looks like you damaged your thumb biulding that contraption. :)

here is part of an email from lowrance with regards to this unit...

How are you using this product. The optimal performance for this product is when it is scanning the bottom at slow speeds (3-5 miles per/hr). if you are using this product for stationary fishing it will not give the best picture.

I am not too sure why anyone would want a portable version of a fish finder if they aren't using it while stationary. Oh well. I'll have to make do. Let me know how your elbow contraption works.

  5. In Ontario power generation is private, well crown corp.

OPG runs the bulk of the plants and Hydro One runs the bulk of distribution.

OPG has 4 nuke plants(two leased to bruce power), 5 thermal stations(coal and diesle) 65 hydro electric, and 2 wind urbines.

96% of the power produced is either nuclear, hydroelectric or wind.

  6. People can assume all they want but in reality everyone knows the elk will get cut up and sold as sausage or meat patties. No different than the salmon or walleye. Every so often these things come up and its just Ewww and Ahhh and how dare they for a few weeks then its forgotten for the next time.

You know you can still go buy walleye in the kawartha;s by the pound with spear holes in them right.

  7. I have a pair of irish setters and a pair of red heads. I like both of them. the red heads are older now and are gortex, never leaked for me and did just fine for about 4 or 5 years, lots of km's on them. The Setters I have are the 2000 gram thinsulate ones, not light and heavily insulated, so I couldn't comment on those for you but they have been pretty good thus far.

  8. Lots of opportunities for the leafs to improve . There will be a number of good players that get bought out... think of the broke teams that are willing to dump a half a season of losses. They will shed there big names and go for lottery balls. Hopefully the leafs can pickup some good players. Number 1 center and a vet goalie.

  9. There is going to be a lot of moves made, 2 player buyout per team will open up a fair bit of talent. Lou still on the block. We will see. I am going to reserve judgement until we see what team will hit the ice.

  10. Not a single person on the lake. The more I poke around the more it seems its just how these work. Meant for moving versus stationary oh well. It'll do for the limited number of times I get on the ice.

  11. Thats not for the DSI models. As I mentioned the DSI models have no sensitivity adjustment, only contrast. From what i gather as you adjust the contrast the sensistivty is also adjusted internally. Doesn't work so well though imo.

  12. The transducer is long like a cigar not a normal one since its a down scanner. Holding it horizontal would shoot the beam to the other side of the lake. :)

There is no page 22 of my manual... http://www.lowrance.ca/upload/Lowrance/Documents/Manuals/MARK-ELITE_SONAR_OM_~%5B988-10016-001%5D~_w.pdf

As you can see on page 4 the DSI models can only adjust contrast, the other non dsi models can adjust the sensitivity.
