  1. I saw it last night, and honestly I think it was probably the worst movie I have seen in a long time. I love the shoot emup movies, but this one was soo over the top cheese It was barely watchable. Pretty good action but it was made a bit cheesey due to the, "Your mama" and "Your Haird Dresser" type lines every 5 minutes. :) Oh yah and my fav "Lets have diner" Sure... in a thousand years.

It sure says alot about a movie when a prop (as cool as a AA12 is) steals the show.

  2. You wanna here something even better. When I got divorced my Ex took the car and transfered it in her name. Plate and Vehicle transfered into a new name. 6 months later I get a bill saying she was on the 407 and I have to pay for it. I called them and told them the plate was transferred months ago and they said too bad its listed in there system under my name and I have to pay it and they sent it to collections.

    Nice eh.

  3. Sowith the other netting question I got one for yah.

We have all had this happen, you get the big monster BAss, Pikeral, musky... whatever right at the boat and the net man, goes to scoop her up and wham, she gets off. Well a few weeks ago while pre fishing, a fish threw a hook at the side of the boat and jumped in the air. The hook was clearly out fo the fishes mouth and I caught the bass in the air with the net without the hook attached.

    Is this a legal catch?

A nice catch yes...but it makes me wonder.

  4. take your gps with you. I would think your gonna see similar speeds. Just ask the guys what prop pitch is has. Both boats are gonna have similar baseline performance. so unless he can runn a higher pitch prop your gonna see roughly the same speed. You may get out of the whole faster with the extra 25 ponies but top end....unless you can running more prop I don't think you will see much. It may be better for pulling skiers out of the water though.

Of course if you want a Lund, you will never be totally happy with anything else. The only thing I would go away from my lund is a fully on bass boat.

  5. Well, I am gonna be taking my kids camping on Balsam this weekend... Was up til 2am packing the car. If anyone is in the area drop by if you see the 16' lund or My jacked up jeep grand cherokee with a snorkel(its not hard to miss).

I was going to set them up with some drop shot rigs and some nose tipped minnows to hopefully get them into some Smallies o some walleye. (i'll be using the usualy plastics, I am just not a fan of live bait but for the kids it keeps them entertained. I figured on fishing the weed edgas on the West shore near the park and the weed edge near the rocky point just north of the park. Anyone have any other areas close by we should try out? If you want to PM me feel free.

  6. I know a guy with that lund and he has a 200 on it. He loves it, super solid in the rough water. Heuses it to fish Bass Tournaments, he never come's in earlier when the waves start to pound. I have seen him pounding through some rough water in it. They are real nice boats, but really your not going up all that much in boat usage options. They are essentially going to fill the same purpose.

    i have a 2004 princecraft super pro 186 platinum with a merc 150 optimax

do you think selling my princecraft to get a 2004 lund fisherman 1800 with a 175 opti is a reasonable idea?

i figure i can sell my boat for what it will cost me to get the lund.

they have similar features... fish/ski options.

looking for input on quality, rough water ride.

  7. If you are going used stick to a cable steer version. The older Electric steer ones are a headache. The only way to find out is to buy it. If you can wait and save up a bit get a newer used one thats cable steer. Those pedals are awkward to use, and they the circuit board is prone to having sticking issues when they get older.

  8. Just stick with the 50pound braid, and tie on a 6 foot 20 pound Flouro leader. Use a uni to uni knot. I use Pline and find it to be amazingly strong.

Hey Folks I have never used fluoro before looking to spool it on one of my reels. I currently have Abu 603 ALBi with 8lb mono and the spare spool has fireline braid ( not impressed gonna switch to power pro) . I picked up a ABU 503 ALBi for $34 on sale month or so ago at Canadian tire and I am thinking of putting fluoro on the main spool and maybe a heavy mono 14# or so on the spare spool. I live in muskoka and the lakes can be rocky so I was thinking of the fluoro for dragging tubes etc. I have a baitcaster BPS bionic reel with a BPS extreme rod ( it was cheaper this way than buying the bionic combo go figure LOL) it has 50# power pro braid which I use for topwater frogs and pitching weeds. I fish mostly for bass so any input on the best fluoro or if I should use it would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  9. Yup solid 3.5er. I would be happy catching 3's all day. But wait til you hook the first big 5+. You will know becasue when you set the hook into it you wil think its snag on a log. Then it will start pulling drag. Litterallly the last5+ I hooked into I was in some logs and when I set the hook I said "crap snagged a log wheel the boat around". then my rod bent in half and I knew it was a pig. :)

If you are hitting 3's your doing the right stuff, you can try going to bigger baits if your on active fish as well. I will even throw the big 7" senkos if the fish are active to get into the big ones. I have caught Bass smaller than the worm they have hit. Big stuff usually only works on those magic days where the fish are jumping in the boat. Its worth grabbing you favorite color in the biggest size you can find for those real good days. The same as grabbing your favorite color in the smallest size for those rough days.

  10. Just for a side by side...

I know exactly how much this one was. Was measured on digital hand scale as well as verified and corrected against a tournament in water scale setup.

    P1050264.jpg

This measure 5.22 on a handheld digital, and corrected to 5.45 on an in water tournament digital setup.

When comparing pictures look at the size of the persons hands compared to the fish. In my case look at my hand and how far down its face goes compared to the other ones. I have pretty big hands. COmparing to someones body is relative to the distance between the fish to the body to the camera. If the person holding the fish can't put there fist in its mouth it ain't 5 pounds.

  11. Get in a boat and drive slow. Let all of your line out behind the boat and keep driving for a few minutes to let the twists in the line un twist. then wind the line back on. Make sure you have nothing tied to your line when you do this. EG no lures on the line just bare line.

If you do alot of short casts make sure you fire a long cast every so often as lots of hort casts will put extra twists in your line. Also try and flip the bail over by hand instead of winding the bail closed. This will also prevent line twist.

Of course you could just buy a WAVE SPIN!!!!
