BOY what a great week on crotch Lake, A group of 10 of us meet at land o lakes lodge every Sept for some walleye fishing. We do well every year but this year the fish were turned on for us. Most fish came from jigging on deep water humps , shoals and points with morning trolling at first light good for some nice fish. All total our group caught over 300 walleye for the week with 70% of them slot fish in the 20-22" range ( I love the slot as you can catch many large fish) we had 4 walleye over the slot 25-27" that were all returned to the lake to grow, our group keep anough for 2 nice fish fries and the rest are still in the lake. Bass fishing was a little off as most were in the deep water, caught a few nice pike in the 27-31" range. My best came on the 6th morning when I caught a 25" over the slot walleye, boy what a great fight on light line.

Hi Everyone just back from a week on Crotch Lake. Walleye were a little slow this spring my wife and I managed 7 trolling all but 1 under slot, loads of pike in the 15-20 range and 8 over 24" with the largest 34" . The jig bite was slow We got none jigging but my buddy got 3. Did get a few big perch in the 10-13" range that cooked up good with the Eyes . All the eyes we got were in the narrows or big black bay. Fawn lake was not good for eyes this spring for us but did hold lots of pike and perch. Gull creek is just a trickle. All in all it was a good week

I use McAfee anti virus Plus and it works well. It has removed 2 virus so far and makes my computer run faster. I had Zone Alarm Internet Sec. suite and it made my computer run like a snail so I went with the McAfee plus.

I fell for the Cabela's Pro Series Landing Net with the knotless bag -
I had one 2 years ago land 20 feet from me while fishing on a river in Penna. and stand on the rocks watching the water for 20 min. till it lept in the air hit the water and took off with a 1lb carp, I just wish I had my camera. And last year on crotch lake one flew in the tree near us with what looked like a Rat in its talons I have the whole thing on an old 8mm video camera it was only 50 ft away.

I have used the lucky craft pointers out in lake Powell in Az. for Stripers for years so I tried it last year in Ontario on Crotch lake an the walleye liked the jointed pointer on a jerk retrive. I saw a few just off the boat come up behind it on the pause and watch it till I would jerk it then they would slam it, They were all slot fish. The lucky Craft are high priced but they cast and hold up and never need tuning.

I have one that I use for shore fishing to check out depth and contour. It does not pick up much structure but does show fish. -
Trilene XL smooth casting works great for me in 6-8 lb. would not mind trying Yo-Zuri Hybrid, read up a little on it.

Has anyone ever stayed at Camp La Plage on Lake Nipissing. Wanted to know how they were and how the fishing is in the area. Looks to be close to the hardwood Islands and Cache Bay and a few miles from the west arm.

$150 Cnd is a fair price if in good condition. I love mine, even have the portable pack and Battery for travel trips. There is a Simulator on thier web site so you can play around before you take it out on the lake
