I would be very proud to be standing shoulder to shoulder amongst other anglers with it in my hands. It is so nice to see parents getting there youngsters into fishing. Thanks to old Pappy here my whole family including my Grand children and especially my wife are very much into it. I do not know about these days but back in the 80s fishing was the fastest growing outdoor sport in North America. Sadly in todays society it seems to have died off some what. I am sure your daughter will have many pleasurable hours reeling in lunkers with it. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Barry. She's not a young'n these days as she'll be 30 this year. She is however the only one of my 3 who still loves to go fishing, so ya.....I spoil her.

Well I decided it was high time to put a rod longer than 7'6" into my Daughter's arsenal.
She does have many options to choose from but any time a rod longer than 7'6" is needed she's had to borrow one of mine.
So as a surprise that she'll see this afternoon I built her an NFC HM St 964-2 (9'6" ~ 6-12 line rating),and paired it up with a Shimano Twin Power C3000XG.
I'm thinking she'll be quite surprised. 🙂

I had a few more pictures sent to me this morning that I'll share with you all.
Mr Chong on stage.
Some of our club member Jim's antique lure collection.
And of course OFC member Fish Farmer who won in the Salmon category, the Lake Trout category as well as Angler of the Year (again....lol).
Congrats Farmer. 😉- 2

While I'm not overly familiar with many of the PP's I have been looking at Restoule as a possible destination this summer.
It looks promising with access to a couple of lakes.- 2

Well I finally had few minutes to watch the video Simon. Is there anything finer than active Laker's on a bright sunny day on a frozen northern Ontario lake, ya that's rhetorical. Good stuff Sir. 🙂

Yes Chris it was a Great Night and was Interesting to listen to David Talk and Show things. Great Night and Exec did a GREAT JOB.
Thanks Kelvin 🙂 -
Well after a four year absence in our club's (Stelco Fishing Club) annual awards night due to Covid we were finally able to host the event again last evening.
The attendance fell far short of our pre Covid numbers but the evening was over all a success with approximately 140/150 people in attendance. I don't have many pictures as yet from the evening, I will share more when I have some.
On behalf of the membership, the executive and myself, we all send our gratitude and thanks to Mr David Chong for making the trip to the Hammer to talk about our mutual passion, fishing!
Good to see you again David, cheers and best wishes for the upcoming open water fishing season.

Thanks very much Spiel I appreciate it. I've been watching Kijiji very closely for a couple years now for a practical boat. I came across this one in the most unusual way. I was driving through a residential neighborhood and on a front lawn was a sign - boat for sale. I'm thinking what the ....'s up with that. He could have at least put the boat on the drive way. But there was just something about it so I went back. He took me into his garage and there it was. He's always kept it inside when he isn't using it. After some haggling I got it for two thousand bucks and all the goodies included. It was a no brainer. The Evinrude is a 9.9hp.
You scored Barry. -
Well that'll get ya to the fish Barry, congrats.

Is that the new spelling or did you lose access to your old account?

Belated best wishes Norm. Cheers.

Hey Chris
Not one of those handles for all but there are those that will love it! IMO
(I'm sure some would think the handles you have built for me are for "old guys" !!)
I like that you are willing to try new ideas, and have the skill to pull it off.
I count myself very lucky to have have more than a few rods built by you.
Here is my favourite.
Thanks Bill, I always enjoyed building for you as your taste is on par with my own.
Natural wood will always be my fave.- 1
