  1. I only edited to fix a spelling mistake. Wasn't trying to start a contest though. Thanks for all the replies, great info.
  2. Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. What kind of knots would you suggest?
  3. Basically just a tooth protector. About a foot at the most.
  4. I'm planning 80lb flouro to a 50lb braid. Don't mind learning new knots, I'll check that site out.
  5. What do you think would be the highest pound test fluorocarbon that you could still effectively tie onto braided line without using crimps?
  6. Ugh. I feel that. Did it to both knees (skateboarding for me). Good luck.
  7. $10 bucks beats mine. You win.
  8. I'd suggest just keeping an eye out on Craigslist/kijiji. I was also in the market for a pike setup and over the winter managed to grab a 400 Calcutta and a 7'6" St.Croix to go with it. Total cost was $180 and a bit of driving. Not too bad, I'd say.
  9. Did they change the 300 as well, or did it stay the same?
  10. x2 on the Playsport. I like leaving the fish-eyes to the fish.
  11. I know what you mean with Rapala. You used to put the emphasis on the first syllable? If so, me too.
  12. How do you pronounce Daiwa? Day-wa? Or Die-wa?
  13. You're going to have a lot of fun. It's rare that I do any fishing other than from my kayak anymore. It really changes everything. Plus rigging it up is almost as fun as the fishing itself. Good luck.
  14. I'm originally from Sudbury and visit every month or so. Does that count?
  15. Totally useless now, but mine was a small heater in the shape of a cassette tape to heat up your car's tape deck in the winter. Slow music stinks.
  16. Thanks everyone. I'll try out luremaking.com. They're Canadian as well aren't they?
  17. That would work, but I learned long ago that I'm far too irresponsible for credit cards. So online ordering is out.
  18. Sorry, should have specified. I want it for tackle-making, both for spinner forms and through-wire for wooden baits.
  19. Does anyone know somewhere in Toronto that sells stainless steel wire? The closer to downtown, the better. I've been looking around but not having much luck at all. Thanks.
  20. Heh, thanks. I may take you up on that someday.
  21. No worries at all. I'm new to these boards, but not the internet. The S's are honestly just a lazy way of picking a username. My guess is that there's already a Curtis and a Curtiss on here.
  22. Well thanks for the welcome. Here's some stuff about me: I live in downtown Toronto (originally from a few hours further north), and don't get out fishing close to as much as I'd like. Mostly just a weekend thing for me. Next time I access the site from am actual computer I'll see about posting some pics.
  23. I've been lurking around these boards for a while now, and thought it was about time I said hi. Thanks a lot to every poster for helping to get me through some slow days at work.
