  1. going to see sloan in concert

  2. Hi everyone I live right near the mouth of the credit and have been reading about when the salmon run. We just had a big rain storm here, but I was wondering if it's too early to go out and catch salmon. Does anyone know if they have started up river. Also could anyone offer me any advice on techniques to catch them, right now the main thing I'm doing is floating a pink trout worm down river and adjusting what levels it drifts down at. Any advice would be great. Thanks
  3. My family and i went up to koochiching to visit some of our friends. I woke up at 6:45 and took their paddle boat out a trolled behind it. After about an hour I had caught a couple perch. The part of the lake we were at was really weedy so every now and then I had to bring in my lure to take the weeds off. As my lure was 5 feet away from the boat i saw a massive small mouth take my lure. I got it in the boat and it was 20" the biggest of the year.
  4. Sounds like a great river I'll have to check it out for sure
  5. Thanks Dave do you know what species i could expect
  6. Hi everyone i have a cottage on kennisis and have been fishing the, lake for a while now. I've been down the river dozens of times and I'm looking but i want to go explore new areas. Does anyone know off any other rivers around kennisis that may be worth exploring.
  7. Ive also seen a guy hitting golf balls off the end of his dock then dive for them, he probably finds a few lures aswell
  8. Sometimes at the end of the simmer i go diving and retrieve all the lures I've lost over the course of the year
  9. Id suggest one of the Olympus cameras that are everything proof if you're taking it out fishing
  10. What part of the grand were you on i was thinking of heading up to apps mills and was wondering if you could tell me wether its worth while
  11. One of my friends suggested we go on a fishing trip as soon as the ice melts. He had suggested Cedar lake in Algonquin and said he had been there at that time and the fishing was great. However the trip would take 4-5 and my dad doesn't wan't me missing more than one day of school. So now I have to find a lake or river that is closer (I live in Mississauga). Does anyone know of any great fishing places that we could go to and catch walley.
  12. My family also has a cottage on Kennisis. The lake is loaded with rock bass and on a good day every other cast brings another fish. Unfortunately they are invasive and are taking all the food that the native species eat. I'll have to try that jig you were talking about and see if it can turn my luck around on bad days next summer.
  13. Thanks everyone for the help I ended up getting the scientific angler bass rod.
  14. I'm planing on trying out fly fishing in the summer and I want to get a rod and real combo during the boxing day sales. I'm looking for an entry level rod and real combo that isn't terribly expensive but at the same time will not fall apart. I would mainly use it to fish on my lake (kennisis) for small mouth bass and occasionally on other lakes and rivers in the area. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should get?
  15. Going tomorow after school ill be sure to buy some of the listed lures at bass pro

  17. Thanks Ill try using the bulb exposure mode and lowering my iso
  18. I am a starting photographer and im trying to take photos of the stars up at my cottage. I currently have the standard lense that comes with the Canon xs and when i take pictures with a f/3.5, maximum iso and 30 second exposure i only get some of the brightests stars and the picture has alot of sound. I was thinking of getting the Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II lense and was wondering if that will enable me to take pictures of the stars and if its a good overall lense. I would also appreciate it if someone could tell me what it means when a lense has 6 elements in 5 groups
  19. Im mainly trying for pike and I've been using a lure called the blue fox.
