  6. Hi, good morning all.....beautiful Toronto morning! Now, this morning I figured to introduce my new fluoro tippets to my mono leaders. Now is it just me or when tying the triple surgeon, and bringing the line through the looping, I find the two pieces don't stick together like mono 2 mono? Don't know if I'm clear on that. Anyone else experiencing that? Thanks....tight lines! Fred
  7. Gottcha Thanks chefboi....
  8. Hi Fish I hope I'm not to embarrassed to ask, but who is BPS? Hope it's not something I'm supposed to know Fred
  9. Hello All I wonder if anyone can recommend a local fly shop here in the GTA. A shop with products, accessories and maybe a bit of fishing feedback. And, you can exclude Le Baron and Wilson's. It seems Le Baron has no fly fishers working there, and Wilson's, is a bit pushy and expensive. thanks and tight Lines all. Fred
  10. Yeah Lew. It`s happening again! It`s like everything else. There`s nothing you can buy here, that can`t be purchased cheaper State-side. Fred
  11. Hey all! The Ontario Fishing Regs state in Durham region all streams from the CN bridge to the lake are no closed season. It does not say anything about the Wilmot being closed after the 31st of Dec. I thought it was closed. Can anyone shed a light on this. Fred
  12. Good call Mike! Tomorrow`s good for me. As long as the ice is out on the L. Ontario tribs. I`ll fish Fred
  13. Nope...I haven't any problems...Although I only watch 2-3 hours a day, Lest I overdose! Fred
  14. Right Hammer, I remember the 4 sisters(?), before they were brought down. The stacks at Lakeview generating station. I used to Mepps fish big carp there on the wall 20 years ago. What a great time I had with those ones! I suppose the carp aren't there anymore as the warm water has stopped. I was there last week-end just lookin'. It was frozen over. This weekend I'm going to try to drift a wooly fly for rainbows again. Fred
  15. Hello all, went out this morning for a bit in Mississauga. The water's naturally high and murky. I was using a egg-suckin' leech trying to get it the bottom. Had one nice hit, got cold..I'm really concerned about taking an unitentional dive into the river, so I didn't stay to long. The sun was out, blue skies and several fishers there, but I never saw a 'bow landed. Tight lines all!
  16. That's nice Speckie you got there Leechman. Congrats. Fred
  17. Thanks Danny, Zonkers are always a cinch. And yes, it'll definitely be on my must-haves for this Spring Fred
  18. Thanks for the reply. My post was vague I know. I haven't started tying yet. I'm still into purchasing flies. Nice fly though. I might get me a couple of those. I'm sure down and across would work fine for Spring-run Rainbows Thanks again!
  19. Hi everyone. As an experienced spin fisherman, and a novice fly guy, I'm looking to attach a silver attractor to my tippet. I've had plenty of success spinning to 'bows, browns and speckies I think an attractor fly cast upstream has to be as effective as a #2 Mepps. I know it seems weird, but can anyone suggest a wet fly that has the same attraction as a Mepps ? Thanks for reading
  20. absolutely a Brookie!
  21. It's definitely a Brook Trout. Splake have laker tails,(forked) and Brookies have square tails
