  1. There was a place at Mt.Pleasant & Eglington in the city where cougars could be found called The Chicken Deli some 20 years ago, now they'd be known as Battle Cats but I digress, would be incredibly awesome to see a big cat in the wild

Ive seen em. And consider myself blessed to have done so.

Ive never seen an animal cover ground so quickly and leap probably 30 yards in a single bound chasing waboos

  2. I really miss Mikes reports, badly. If we don't watch it Bunker is going to be chased away as well. Then all we have to read about is Trump and Jr. and where to get the best deal on tires and batteries. They don't need us we need them.

Bunk has his own site which has all his old and new reports. Id highly recommend subscribing.

And mike has his own magazine now where he does his reports.

I dont think he was "chased away" as much as he is just too friggen busy running his business

  3.

Can't say I have, soooo many great lakes to fish around here, can't get to them all!

It is a great area! If I were you id check it out even for a day trip. Its only about 30 minutes up the highway towards ear falls.

Access to the lake is about a 5 minute drive off the highway.

I havent asked him yet lol, but if wormdunker comes up next summer Id like to take him there for a day. Then hit some serious backlakes on the 502 and show him what a real "numbers" day looks like.

We should link up come spring. Im willing to drive up that way to meet up. Its a small trek for you. Takes me about 3 hours or so to get to vermillion

  4. I wasnt nervous one bit. What a nice change.

I actually posted to matt with 3 minutes left(which could have totally bit me in the butt)

We have waaay to powerful of an offense right now. And our defensive game is leaps and bounds better than years prior. Its night and day.

Also, our powerplay is rediculously good as is our penalty kill.

Another year and we have a powerhouse team provided we stay healthy.

Im looking forward to seeing our backup and how he plays in the back stretch, since I think hell be getting the nod every 3rd game or so since Anderson is almost matched his career high at halfway point.

Im sure hell have a few bad games but he shows a ton of promise. In fact Id say he won last nights game for us with about 6 saves that easily could have been goals. And when the pressure was on in the last 3 minutes he was just as composed as any seasoned goaltender. Very impressive!

  5. M2B2, you have said in the past you guide.

Ive guided yes, but not professionally.

More like as a favour to friends, co workers and occasionally for my cousin who owns Camp Narrows on the north arm of Rainy Lake.

I considered doing it professionally at one point. Especially when we looked at buying a resort.

But thats not happening anytime soon

My dads guides more often than me but same situation. Lodge needs a temp fill in and its an awesome way to earn money on days off by basically getting a free vacation. Even though its pretty strenous work at least mentally.

  6. You guys suck. Nobody posts reports in my area for me to steal.

Yall fly down in fancy planes drinking patron and staying at the ritz, fishing with guides and smoking cubans, cant even name the lake if yall wanted too.

Be back in abit, the red green show is on

  7. All the lurkers have it I bet. I haven't logged into it in a few years cause it was tagging my stuff and I had to manually removed it all.

    I bet you are correct.

I dont have any fishing apps other than navionics, and this is the only site I frequent. I must have heard of the app on here. Woulda been in my iphone days though.

    And bruce speaking truth

  8.

They calculate the estimated catch using data from anglers who do their 'Angling Diaries' each season to determine how many fish are caught for each 'angler effort hour'. The combine this data with info from the boat launches and other surveys which gives them approximate 'angling effort hours' and do the math. They've done it this way for a long time and they seem to think it gives them a pretty good guestimate at least. Certainly not perfect but no statistical method such as this really is.

    Thats what I thought.

    Thanks!

  9. Another story.

3 years back my dad txted me pics of his neighbour hammering huge lakers through the ice on upper manitou and claiming he had the best spot.

My dad was curious where it was since we fished manitou a fair amaount with laker success but nothing near that size.

Within 5 minutes I had gps coordinates to the spot and texted the photo to me dad. Needless to say he was shocked.

Then began the lesson of shutting off gps location while taking pics.

Never did fish the spot but my dad did, and bragged to the kid about the spot at work to the guy who sent him the pics.

He was totally dumbfounded... my dad taught him the lesson as well lol
