  1. There are bigger fish than 2 pounds in the large ponds on my course. I have seen 20" Smallies pulled out of there. The owners do let kids on the course in the spring and fall when they are not as busy. I wouldn't. I wouldn't approve of families walk the course with the dog either. It happens on our course and it can be dangerous because some don't have a clue what is going on. I have seen them stand too close to a fairway and wave you on. Move stupid. There is a huge liability issue at play here. Forget about drowning, the hazard is balls hitting some kid in the noggin when the pond magnets kick in and suck the ball towards the water hazard. Considering that course workers are required to wear hardhats I wouldn't want to be the one explaining to the authorities that someone was seriously injured while fishing. Talk about lack of due diligence. I'm told I worry too much, I just don't want to be hauled into court.

    Good point my friend

Ever get hit with a drive? I have and it bleepin smarts big time

  2. -9 this morning when I left for the rivers north at 5am, snow was still over my knees in LSPP.....and Superior is still locked!!

Im surprised superior even opens up!

When for a swim on the 4th of july along ways back and I wont be doing it again!

  3.

And that's the problem Rick, she thinks she has a great life, just sit around on her fat lazy azz watching TV all day while the rest of the country works to pay taxes to give to her.

    Yeah thats crappy Lew.

Its no way of life IMO.

Youd have no choice to be lazy and get fat cause you cant afford to go do anything lol.

And bill I agree, some people truly need it and thats what its there for.

  4.

I've said it here before, but I have a 70 year old cousin who has been on welfare her entire life and has never worked one single day since she was born.

She's never been married but has 6 kids with 6 different men and told me I was completely stupid to work for a living as welfare treats her very well.

As far as she's concerned, welfare is just a normal way of life that pays her quite well and it's much easier than getting up every day and working your butt off.

Lotsa people do that. Do I like it? Nope

But it does not pay well lol.

These types of people have very low standards of living.

And it sounds like she has an incompitant worker.

Where is her participation agreement? There is zero chance shes participating the way should is legally obligated too.

And bill, here is a few numbers for two parents with 4 kids.

793 per month in max shelter out of that you must also pay gas and hydro

    463 for basic needs

You can only have 7000 in assets and can own a home and one vehicle

    .

You must form a participation agreement that includes proof of looking for work, attending courses which make you more employable. Failure to meet anything in your participation agreement means no cheque, at all

  5. Good question...

Im interested to here the answer(s)

Boy oh boy thats all you get is $1200/month? Thats insane.

My gramps, bless his soul, got somewhere in the neighborhood of $2500/month 12 years or so ago.

With his house paid off plus savings, he lived good in retirement.

  6. 4 games and only 2 goals difference, not exactly a run away for the habs. Not likely the Sens will win 4 in a row but at least they are making it interesting.

So, how are the laffs doing?

You laffites got your winning roster and what should be a cup parade route picked out yet?

    :whistling:

No comment on anderson trying to use his stick as a weapon????

  7. I found a tick on the back of my cats neck the other day, this is my first ever encounter with a tick and now I am hearing more and more about it.

Creepy stuff. Other than bug spray any way to protect yourself?

    James

    Stay out of the bush?

Where long clothes in this bush.

    Check often

Or totally chemical yourself with deet(which I strongly prefer not to do myself)

  8. Anytime we are in the bush its almost cerimonial now to do full body checks upon getting home. Shower up too cause that def helps with poison ivy which is everywhere here(cold shower).

I hate ticks but I probably pick off about 200 or more a year. Out of those maybe 3 or 4 are imbedded.

In spite of all the home remedies for removal, we still pull out slowly with tweezers and make sure to get the head!

Make sure to check your head!!!

  9. Yes, I prefer to call it Jokeville.

Lots of scat, rabbit fur, I've seen one while on my mountain bike. I have a dog, cat and a newborn. I am scared, very scared.

    Lol thats awesome?

Pretty much same stance here. We let them be. They get close and my dog takes care of em.

My kids are out in the bush right now, and im not one bit worried
