Of course I approve. Anything we cook with "abundanze" which basically translates to passion is good. I always thought the Pommadore (direct translation is golden apple) sauce had to be cooked and tended to for hours, not. I asked my Nona one day if it was necessary to cook a sauce for 6 hours. Yes sometimes, not always. She said if she wasn't cooking all day she would have to do housework!! We can make a killer sauce in 30 minutes. A Ragu, yes time on the stove blipping away makes it. I just made what Ticha and my guests said was the best sauce I have made in years. I agree. Man it is good. I used chicken legs and thighs with pork and beef. Don't ask me for a recipe because there isn't one.

 

I make a sauce called Putanesca that takes 30inutes, maybe. Yes the Putana you might be thinking of. The story goes that the Hookers in Rome wanted something spicy, quick and tasty when they got home from a tough night street walking.

 

A can of whole tomatoes slightly chopped, hot chiles, garlic, anchovy, capers, EVO, a bit of salt, pepper, cook in a pan for 30 minutes or less,and donezo. A tip, too brown garlic put in a cold pan with cold oil. Opposite of what is taught but it works best. Add long Pasta and cheese. Ferged aboud id. I'm sure I've mentioned it before here. It's stupid simple. We would cook up a pound of pasta when we got back from Disco dancing and feed 6 of us. Harveys was an option too then. Mrs. Perri would hear us downstairs and sometimes would get up and insist she feed us. Man they were good times. We make our own new good times now.

15 bucks of sirloin, this sucker is over 2 inches thick. Starters were dressed for the occasion in their best bacon suits and made to sweat till all the fat was lean and the taste mean.

Thanks guys! I was thinking of trying south side on Conney Island? Looks like some good spots. I've been reading on Walleye Central guys head to the west side by Oak Island but on Canadian side? Also was told Big Narrows? Big Narrows looks like a 20 mile run from Kenora, but I'm wondering why run 20 miles if there's just as good of fishing within 10 miles of launch.

There is wicked walleye fishing 2 minutes from kenora lol

I had a french teacher that gave nerve holds to students lol (not really funny but in retrospect)

 

Till one day she did it to my friend and his dads a hells angel hahah.

While I was in gr 9. For the first week of school with every morning during the anthem while we all stood at attention there was one girl who sat on her ass in the middle of the class, I got fed up with it and talked to the teacher, she agreed with my stance and for the rest of the year she would stay in the hallway and assumedly sit on the ground out there. I was pleased with the resolution. Do what you want just don't force it on me or disrespect the country we all live in.

Same when I was in school. I didnt complain but I mean kids of other faiths/beliefs etc sat in the hallway

Kenora is a great place to launch and dont let anyone tell you you have to travel far!

 

Bring your confidence baits with ya, kenora isnt known for great tackle shops although there are a few. The canadian tire is decent but its strongly geared towards musky fishing.

 

Bring lots of jigs(i prefer 3/8 oz) in black, blue or pink.

 

4 or 5" white swimbaits are a must as well

 

And black/silver potbelly spinnerbaits and white/silver for bass and pike casting shoreline structure

 

Ill drive up for a coffee and a chat if your game

Last time I passed through Kenora, we caught 20 inch pickerel and a bunch of nice smallmouths off of a marina dock. I haven't fished the lake enough to give any advice, but I think you'll do just fine.

I just asked my 12 year old Son, who goes to a public school in York Region, about this. He said they have Halloween, and call it that. They wish each other Merry Christmas and have a class Christmas Party. Images of Santa are not banned.

 

His class is 50% or more non-white.
