  1. Specs on the motor say 75hp @ 5500 if I remember correctly so that's probably why there isn't much diff between 1/2 or full throttle

There is no torque for me at any speed this surprises me. It's much easier to drive than my old 60hp Johnson 2 stroke.

The transom isn't actually riding that low concidering it's only a 20" transom.

I'll run it again on Saturday with the batteries in and see what she does.

Just leave it the way it is.Seems normal.

I have a Lund 1660 Classic with a Yamaha F60 tiller I get trimmed out and Max is 5400 rpm. Top speed is around 34 mph with 2 fisherman plus gear sometimes 35 mph alone.

36.5 MPH sounds about right considering your boat is long.

Enjoy the new toy and you need to change your board name to Lund Guy.

  2. Canon Canon and oh ya Canon.I just have a Canon SX 110 cause I like to keep it simple when fishing.

Now My wife has the Canon D60 and my daughter has I believe the Canon T2i .

Many canons have come though our house and not one has failed they are so reliable.

  3. Yup I'm a duck hunter :) I actually think it would be cool to put a 2" powered jack plate not for speed but for raising the motor

up when the water gets shallower. I've read a few message boards that say jack plates void your warranty. I have to look into this.

Turns out they didn't install my extra seat base..it wasn't ordered ARGH! so I will install the base myself

    when it comes in.

Apperantly, the drivers seat doesn't come installed from the factory for tillers, that's the one they installed.

Would have been nice if they waited for the customer to specify where I liked it but..it's not in a terrible spot

so not a real big deal.

Cant' wait to get her broken in..that's my next post LOL!

Congrats RG on the new Lund,I have a similar set up a 2008 Lund 1660 Classic with a 60 Yamaha tiller unlike you my dealer let me position my seat before it was screwed down.

The Yamaha runs so smoothly and you will like the rpm control when you want to troll slower.

Now get it slimed and Quaked or ducked lol

  4. Insurance should cost around 300$ a year.Storage dunno.gif Oil, filter and gearcase lube 60$.Licence for trailer about 30 bucks, but thats a one time thing.

$300 a year for insurance must be nice to be old like you. with a brand new boat and you only pay that.My boat is a 2008 and I pay $450.

  5. Sounds great Mike. Hoes the new rig working out compared to the ssv?

Glen after 5 seasons in my Lund classic it just keeps getting better.

This boat was built with the fisherman in mind. When I bought it I went all out.Air ride seats worth every penny.Sport Traks,Electric motor with auto pilot.

    etc...

The tiller provides me with so much room for a 16 footer. Now the SSV was a great boat but it was bare bones

no livewell or comforts like the classic. It was lighter and got blown around a little more.

Only thing I miss about the SSV was its 18.5 foot length for connecting the waves but this classic its just an overall

    fantastic all rounded fishing machine.

Some people on here say you pay for the name Lund but I tell ya its built well and you won't find a 16 footer with a deeper hull than this

    model. :Gonefishing:

  6. That was great Sean excellent video.LIke the way you have the yak set up.

My son and I caught 6 yesterday jigging and drifting.

The wife and I are looking to buy some Kayaks for when we go camping as our canoe is not getting much use.

    :clapping:

  7. Mike buy a Yamaha you will be so happy you did.

I had 50 Honda which was very reliable.Swapped it for my 60hp Yamaha and now I would only buy a Yamaha.

Lots of torque starts faster than my cars.Really Mike do yourself a favor buy a Yammy.

Also have the rpm control button can get it under 2 mph.

Reliable and much more quieter than my friends 60hp Mercury.

Yamaha sells the most outboards world wide must be a good reason for that.

  8. Well life sure has changed out of my three children only my son continues to come fishing with Dad.My 2 older daughters 15 and 17 no longer have interest in fishing.

Thats ok though life is good.

Launched in Brossard not far from the Champlain Bridge on the South Shore of Montreal

My son Ryan who is 13 he just loves it.I tell ya it was perfect day with the young lad.Hard to believe at 13 he is almost my height of course thats not hard to beat at 5 foot 9 lol :sarcasm:

Today we went out late afternoon and stayed out for the evening bite. Was hoping to land some pike but did not find them.

I knew where to find the Walleye and we got in to some. Not monsters but the fish turned on.BTW Ryan out fished the old man even though I caught my PB Goby.

In all we caught 6 kept and kept 2 for the dinner plate .fish caught were only in the 14 to 18 inch range but we were catching thats what counts.

  9. Dan I would not bother with planers this time of year. You are more likely to hook into a small walleye and you will never know it is on the board.

When are you going to the BOQ.I will be there next week for 4 days.
