  1. stayed at perfect vue before its ok.There are some cabins at pickeral park.

go to the www.quintefishing.com you will see the resorts on Hay Bay.

my favorite places are Pictin Harbour Inn or Bayside Cottages along Long reach. Both not on Hay Bay

but if you have a boat with a decent size motor then getting there won't take long.

  2. Hey All,

Thought I would post about the new boat. Obviously the new boat idea was a non option. After a lot of searching we found this Princecraft Resorter DLX with a side console for 4900 and we were able to talk the seller down to 4500. It's all the boat we need and it works nicely as we tried it out on the Rideau River this evening! Very happy that we are saving 25000 and still got a boat that works for us! You can have a look here if it hasn't been removed by the seller.

  4. Was out on RIce on Sunday as well. A bass boat, red &white stratos with a 175 merc, came so close to a canoe they jumped ship in fear of being hit by the boat. The idiot turned around and started to ream them out for being in the middle of the lake in a canoe. By the time I got to them, there were needless to say many words exchanged. The idiot in the bass boat didn't stick around to help them right the canoe, probably a good thing as that would have put me close enough to his boat and I might not be able to report this as I would be in jail right now on manslaughter.

I brought the canoe up over my boat to get the water out, let the 3 kids climb into my boat and re board the canoe.

    WHAT"S WITH SOME PEOPLE???

Nice of you to help out Ron I can't believe this happened

  5. Well finally set up a time I could fish with the Mercman. So Friday night I accepted an invite from Paul

To go fishing on the St.Lawrence.Now I have been in a lot of boats before and Paul is Mr.Organized

I have never seen such a well organized boat.I did bring him to my lucky spot and we did just fine considering we were

only out for a couple of hours.Caught five walleye if you count the little dinker and my sheep herding skills came

back to haunt me as I picked up a 4 to 5lb sheepy which I released boat side.

Just a couple of pics. Thanks Paul for taking me out I had a great time fishing with you.Until next time.

I have the Yamaha 60HP Tiller bought new in 2009.At first I put my older 50HP Honda on this boat

and I was dissapointed with the performance so one year later I upgraded to the Yamaha.

The Yamaha comes standard with the RPM control to troll down slower.I think it may be an option on a Merc.

Buy the Yamaha you will be pleased with the performance and reliability.

All the Yamaha owners on this board have great satisfaction from their outboards.

    Good Luck with your purchase!!!

  7. Great to hear your decision as kids grow up so fast.

I remember those years working 80 to 90 hours a week in the Printing industry mades lots of $$$$$ but lived to work.

Luckily I had no kids at the time.

I am back to many hours a week in a whole new industry but my extra time is in a home office.

    Enjoy your children!!!!!!! :)

  8. Only in Canada eh.I bought some have not caught a thing yet with them.

Who ever banned these from tournaments must be the same guys who give the lower HP rating on ones boats unlike the US rating which usually seems to be higher.

Bass season will open soon but they should at least give this some time before banning it.

Must be nice to be in power make a decision without first studying the outcome.

    Conservative Canada at its best.

  9. How are you measuring your RPM

If its an analog, dial, it could be off...When I got my 60 a couple years ago the RPM gauge had to be adjusted...still getting around to getting the connectors to hook it to the HDS7..one a these days

Dara if you are asking about my 60 Yamaha I have a digital tachometer completely separate from the Sonar.
