  1. Mike, I lost 23 lbs since December.. just by switching from Pepsi to Diet Pepsi. No need to exert that effort at the gym !! LOL

    ..........

Remove gifted pickeral fillets from freezer.. thaw... roll in...

    Oh. that's what I'm doing ! LOL

Always the good 'ol on the steaks.. Kraft BBQ sauce and mix in a few table spoons of honey.. coat the steaks and BBQ. Re dip/coat while eating and goes great on the taters as well..

Ah but Wayne you move alot more than I do in a day at least you work physically moving around your shop.As for me I don't move around much driving 5000 to 6000kms a month.Talking to customers does not burn too many calories not too mention taking customers out too lunch.I also got the wake up call from the Doc.

High cholesterol and borderline high blood pressure. My Dad being in the Hospital also inspired me to get moving. Its alot of work to lose the pounds but it does not take much too take it off.MTP

  2. Ah will you guys stop it my mouth is watering.I have changed my lifestyle.Lost 21.lbs since January at the gym 5 days a week.I miss eating alot like large portions.I really miss my Friday night beer.Oh well I feel great now back to dicipline. You guys enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I have a powerdrive 2 minnkota 55lbs of thrust is plenty for my 16ft boat .Do you plan on mounting a sonar in the front I did so I bought the model with the built in transdoucer.Do yourself a favor and buy the autopilot it is a pleaure to operate. The new ones have GPS built into the autopilot.Good luck with your purchase!!!!!!!!!!!!MTP

  4. That's not true at all. Let's look at some 40 hp engines:

    Evinrude E-TEC 40 Two-Stroke ... 232 to 250 pounds, depending on model (see http://www.evinrude.com/en-CA/Engines/ETEC_INLINES/ETEC_40_INLINE)

    Suzuki DF40 Four-stroke ... 243 pounds, or basically the same weight as a two-stroke. (see http://marine.suzuki.ca/Product%20Lines/Outboard%20Motors/Products/DF40/2010/DF40.aspx)

Or if you're really concerned with weight, try this:

    Yamaha F40 Four-stroke ... 205 pounds (see http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/products.php?section=td&model=3498#contentTop)

You guys who think four-strokes are automatically heavier than two-strokes are living in the past. In the case of these 40s, the four-stroke is lighter, and by 30 to 45 pounds!

You're right Sinker, finding a new 40hp two-stroke will be almost impossible. The choice is Evinrude - period. Every other manufacturer has gone to four-strokes, and with good reason.

Wow Craig what an eye opener. Some 2 strokes weighing more than a 4 stroke.I have a Yamaha F60hp 4stroke tiller 237lbs my previous motor

was a 50hp Honda only 215lbs.One thing I noticed was my Honda took alot less fuel than the Yamaha but the Yamaha out performs the Honda big time I guess a 3 cylinder vs 4 cylinder makes the difference.I think the difference in weight 4s vs 2s in the small motors can vary alot more in weight.I swapped a Honda 7.5hp 4 strike for a Yamaha 8hp 2 stroke for a 12 ft tinny I used to have.carrying the Honda was a chore compared to carrying the 2 stroke yamaha.Anyhoo once you go 4 stroke there is no turning back.

  5. Dan you need to go to Samuel de Champlain provincial Park 30 mins east of Northbay 10 mins from Mattawa Ontario.

I may return with my boy.Just like you can't bring the boat because I prefer the comfort of the tent trailer. The lake is 9.9hp or less/

I will bring the canoe/Fishing is great from shore ,trout and walleye lots of pike and bass. You can float down the river on an inner tube lots of fun.Its on the Prov parks website.MTP

  6. Not having much luck in the search, after wading through the scam ads and the junk and old worn out overpriced stuff there is not much left to look at.

Dealers have little or no stock delivery is 8 weeks and all their packages come with under powered motors.

    Enough whinning!!!

Try this Quebec site its all french but a boat is a boat .I can help with translation.Go to www.lespac.com

click vehicles and then marine.lots of boats for sale.MTP

  7. You know as much as I would like to support the local economy it may be tough given whats available at the local dealerships.

I am finding that there is very little stock available and the prices are nothing to get excited about. The common theme is sorry sir we don`t have that model in stock but we can order it, well I know you can order it but I want to sit in it and I want to kick the tires.

I am expanding my search to included Michigan,N.Y,Ohio and IL, pricing is far better and there seems to be more variety and stock down south. I am somewhat concerned about the warranty issues and that may be the deciding factor whether I buy in the States or here.

Have a look at these two examples,

    Lund1625.jpg

    Starcraft.jpg

And to add a different style of boat,

    G3175.jpg

The Lund is from upstate New York and I can get it for 11 grand it comes with a 25 4 str.

The Starcraft is from a local dealer I can get it for 12 grand it comes with the same 4 str.

The G3 is from the Chicago area and I can get this for 11,500 it comes with a 75 Yamaha 4 str. it is a 2007 new/old stock.

The Lund is a far better boat than the Starcraft for a grand less and the G3 is great deal.

    So the search continues.

The Lund seems to be under powered if it is a 16 foot boat.I have a Lund and I am very satified with it.BTW go for the TILLER>

  9. I absolutely love Hondas Had 2 civics one 1980 and one 1989 sold the 89 with 253 000kms on it the guy who bought it off me drove it well over 400 000kms What baffles me is I drove the hell out of this car and it just came back for more.

I own the Honda minivan very satisfied with it 10yrs old 168 000kms still going strong.

I was passenger in a new civic recently and was impressed so quiet and refined.

My choice would be Civic buy you can't beat the amount of space a Matrix or Vibe has.

    Good Luck with your purchase!!!

  10. I currently own a 2000 Honda Odyssey which I have been happy with it is a very powerful minivan but after I finish driving it to the ground

I have my eyes set on the new Chevrolet Traverse.I could really use AWD at the boat launch on occasion. Not quite as much space as my van but close to it.Just as good on gas as my van if not better.281hp AWD plus it can carry up to 8 passengers.I like Fords myself I am totally in love with the Ford F150 but not ready for the big vehicle just yet.I think the Explorer is a fine vehicle but the design and technology has grown outdated and I am not impressed with the gas mileage compared to the Traverse.Traverse has more room than the explorer and the Flex.Having 3 kids I need the extra room to keep the peace while driving on long trips.

I also drive a 2009 Chevy Malibu my 5th one in 10yrs I am really impressed with the reliability of this vehicle because I can tell you the much older malibus were in the garage quite often.68 000kms so far so good!I may just go for the traverse next year when it is time to change my malibu.GM's reliability has impressed me.

You should really take a look at this vehicle. You will miss the extra room of the Explorer if you down size to an Escape.

If you want used the GMC Acadia is its cousin. Not many vehicles in this class with fuel economy like the traverse .A 6 speed transmision has you revving 1600rpm at a 100kph.

Good luck with your next purchase.MTP

  11. thanks :D

    and np wayne.

nNw to find a motor for it. I was thinking of sticking a 4 or 5hp on it, since that could also double as my kicker on my 16fter.

but the max rating on that sportspal is only 2hp...so I might get a 2hp and use that as a kicker. Don't want to get 2 motors.

Kevin I use a 2hp Honda long shaft for my kicker on my 16ft Lund it does a fine job for trolling.I also plan On getting a sportspal

and I will use the long shaft I will just have to be careful in the shallows.

    Nice score with the canoe.
