Boat Licence for Inflatable with Trolling Motor?
rhymobot replied to rhymobot's topic in General Discussion
Thx Which is the best site to get it from? -
I have a 12 foot blow up boat. Putting a troller on it. Do I need to get a boating licence for such a small boat with just trolling motor on it? Thanks.
-
I'm not handy at all. I would have to charge myself a thousand bucks labour because that's how much time it would take me to finally figure it out.

Very true.

Thanks for reminding me. I believe I saw that mount at le barons years ago. But for that price it makes you wonder why it costs so much for a piece of wood and two pipes.

Hi. I have a trolling motor and I want to put it on my Sevylor inflatable boat. Now I need the mount. Why are they so hard to find and where can I get one? How much should I be spending on it? Thanks.

I was just browsing a map and noticed this place and remember seeing 2 signs for it on the road in the past year or so. I did a google street view and saw the entrance sign with phone number and it said year round fishing. I just called that number and it belongs to someone at Best Buy office. Being from Brampton I'm always looking for close by places to put my inflatable in and fish during the week. And on google satellite view it looks like there's boats in the water. It would be nice if this place was open but I'm guessing it's closed up.

Thanks guys. By the way where do I launch in the speed river? I have an inflatable. Is it a slow current? And deep enough not to beach myself after all these rainless days?

Spent 5 mins on the phone with them. Apparently the city owns the water! About 3 years ago I launched from the park just for a stroll, no fishing, and she came up to me in a powered boat and said you're supposed to register with us first! But at that time I don't think they had flags and all that. Heart Lake isn't as stingy as Profs. when it comes to rules but I never have good success at Heart Lake. I guess places like Wilcox are ideal for cheap skates like me. Free and lots of fish.

very interesting... would love to see that pic too.

This is going back about 6 years. He showed me the pics. He caught 26 in 12 hours of fishing. I went with him 2 years ago and he pulled in 3 in 4 hours of fishing but I got skunked. However, was also there last weekend for 3 hours and got none but pulled in a 2.4 largie and 24" pike between the two of us. So I guess this year what you say is true. Didn't know it was a trend this year.

Where to fish on an inflatable this weekend? Looking for bass, pike or walleye. Anyone got recommendation for me between these 3? Thanks.

My friend has caught tonnes out of waubashene. And several non target pike and bass.

Can you rig a trolling motor to just any canoe or do you need a canoe that has a kind of flat surface at the end to support the mount?

I always understood that you weren't allowed to fish from a boat, just shore, in this place but I went for a dip a couple of days ago (turquoise water on a hot day) and saw some dude fishing from a bass hunter. I called next day and sure enough you can now fish from boat but only you're own non motorized. You can't fish from one of their rentals. BUT, you have to launch from their boathouse for 5 something and it's 10-7 everyday. They give you a flag and when 7pm comes they bring you all in. They have a motorized boat to come get you if you're late. And you're not even allowed to launch a dingy from the park on the opposite side. Not even the residents whose backyards are on the water are allowed to launch without notifying the rec centre.

Sounds like a good deal. Better than buying them at CT.

Good to hear. Apparently yamamoto's are the best but he's charging a buck per worm Little too pricey.

BPS Kit It appears Bass Pro has just what I'm looking for. My cousin just found this link above.

Does anyone know of good places to fish in Caledon? I've done the Ken Whillians place numerous times. Not too bad for pike and largies. Albion Hills is pretty much useless from what I understand. And I suppose the Credit could be nice. But what about any hidden gems that people are willing to share? Caledon Lake is private with a sign that says "NO TRESSPASSING WARNING TRAPS INSTALLED", which is actually located next to Peel School Board learning centre property. I read somewhere it had nice bass in there and I walked 10 minutes from where I parked to get there only to find that sign. And I could see tonnes of small largies cruising the shore and creek mouth of this shallow lake. I guess many lakes in Caledon are private because of all those rich folks up there.

damn. and i am never out by the mississauga location until after they've closed.

ya I saw it on BPS website but I almost always rig mine texas. but i think i'll start trying wacky and see what happens.

Anyone know if they come in multi colour packs? I guess they make their money by selling 10 of the same colour in a pack which encourages you to buy several packs. But I'm not a hardcore angler and can't spend that kind of dough. Only got introduced to senkos last year when someone gave me 8 separate colours and they've been the best lures for me but I'm down to 4 now and they're in rough shape.

damn that looks like fun.

I'm here but got in later than expected. So after dinner I went out at 10 thinking there might be pickrel or walters. 35 minutes of fishing and this decent largie made me happy. Right beside my hotel. Thanks for the advice. Later today I'll be checking out the yacht club.

Went here Canada day weekend. Lots of power boats with tubing and all that but saw a few bass boats out there. However, I was in an inflatable so i went 75 metres from shore at the max from the boat launch shown in this map. I think there's another launch but this one is a dirt launch with limited free parking on the dirt on N Orr Lake Rd. There's space for maybe 10-15 cars. Orr Lake map Close to this launch there aren't many weeds and so I was lucky to catch this guy as he was the only bite of the day between the 2 of us in 2 hours of fishing. Definitely better off with a motor and not a dingy like me especially since it was a little breezy and I could easily drift away from shore and have a hard time paddling back though it would be easier in a canoe or kayak than a dingy.
