  1. Tonight I was working a set of bearings for a friend and noticed that there was no spindle washer. I've been doing my own bearings(and friends) for about 20 years now and they all have had a washer. Surfed the web and all the diagrams I could find all had one. I'm thinking that I will get a pair (one for each hub) and put them on. It seems like the nut may have some slight heat damage and I figure it maybe from the lack of a washer. The trailer is newer, about 2 years old so maybe it's new school stuff, I'm not sure. Old school has been working just fine for me. smile.gif Just wondering if anyone has ever seen this before? The pic below is what I'm use to.

In all my year's working on my trailer's,my friends and families or even at work on our new trailers i have never seen that, you need the washer on there to set it properly.

  2. Pick a weekend and let's see who can come.

    :canadian:

i agree pick a weekend and i will see if i can make it most of my weekends are free,I live in sudbury with a 10 month strike and not much work around hear

so till i get back to full time work im pretty much free any time

  3. So i was just wondering how many members are from around the nippising area???

As i have notice in the reply's that members are knowledgeable of the surrounding area..

Not just the main popular spots. But Laving and Verner. Can not remember who it was but the talked about Rice bay and Duck creek

    Arbour creek.

Just curious let me know please

  4. Out of curiosity, do you know how old the Chaudiere Dams are and what were the Nip levels pre-dam?

My grandfather used to tell me about building the original bridge ,When they started to build the dam it was only like a large creak that ran thou there. I also had seen a map of the area from before they built it and thats how i found the deepest part of nipissing in that end of the lake.My grandfather past away in 79 at the age of 71 i believe so it was there long before that area was built up

  5. Actually from London but retired up there about 6 years ago. He was born and raised in Massey. He bought a property up there 20 years ago and rented it out until he retired. He use to have a trailer in Panorama Camp.

Thats funny my parents house was 1/4 down that road and Panarama was owned by my cousin Denis Rainville. since i was 9 we would be there for summer and all school breaks, i lived at that house from 93 to 99 then mouved to sudbury

  6. My dad just lives right outside of Lavigne so I am up there alot. Shore fishing is limited but as someone posted the bridges on 64 will all produce fish. The River right in Sturgeon is another good bet, down by the new docks. The River in Verner is also another good bet for pike early in the spring.

is your dad from that area or did he move there, my family is from there lol

  7. Under the bridge in Laving is a good spot to fish at this time of the year. The water is very low this year, so of the docks may not be very good. Further down the 64 there are some more bridges about 15-20 min heading for Noell-ville and lunches they are deeper so more water. If you want go to a tourist camp to rent a boat to go out in since its not the long weekend it shouldn't to bizzy. the one that comes to mind is called Pakes is close to were you are going.

Under the bridge in laving i use a hook with a long worm or leaches for pickerel/walleye since that is what you are going to find there the should be coming of there sponging beds and its were the lake narrows so they go pass there to get back in the main lake.

The bridge on LaPlage rd were you may be heading of leclair rd is a good spot for pike as well that is on the Veuve river that dumps into Nipissing.

if you get me the street that your gonna be on i can see what i can come up with for ya

hop this helps you for know

keep in touch and i will keep you up to date on the water levels and as they change i may have better spots to go to.

  8. were you going? may be able to help you out with areas to try from

i fish the west arm area. I know that area pretty well and can help you around there, I launch from Laving, and further down the 64 there are some good spots to go from shore around there if you want.

  9. welcome aboard buddy, any plans for may run weekend?

getting married that weekend lol. well on the Friday lol.We had pland the Friday at the time thinking fishing opened on that Saturday lol But since Fishing opens the week before i got fooled.

So i think i may go to nipissing on the opening day

  10. Since you have just repacked your bearings. You should put them on snug not tight spin the wheel while you are doing this when the wheel slows give it another hit just bump it kind of the turn back the nut so you can put the pin in the hole. This will seat your bearings properly.

If you just but it finger tight at this point the bearings may become loose a bit. You may not notice it but they can and this can where out your bearings.

This is how i was thought by my mechanic and since then i have not had any trouble with them

    hope this helps you out

  11. Just talked to my friend who lives down there, and he said that he used a spinner jig red & white with a 4in minnow gulp and in the shallow waters at this time he is heading out tomorrow as well and is hopping to make out well on this trip,Said it would base hes hole year. hahahahaha

that was for pike and walleye he drifts with a minnow or a leach on a hook

  12. walleye and pike don't open until the 3rd saturday in may

That will all depend on were he is gonna fish if he goes on Georgian Bay that is zone 14 and open all year.

If he goes into the smaller lakes around there he is in zone 15, Were it opens on the 3rd sat of may

  13. Welcome. Let's fish Nipissing sometime.

We definately should arrange something for local board members in the Sturgeon Falls area this summer. I have a trailer at Glenrock on Nipissing.

i enjoy camping out on the islands and tenting it if you are ever interested in that. Just must choose a good weekend i got cough in a bad storm out there ounce lol

  14. Thank you every one for making me feel welcome. Looking forward to talking with you's all and reading your stories and seeing your pics. Always up for a discussion about fishing and sharing tips.
