I still think the thing that many are missing on this hit, is the fact that Chara saw the opportunity to take this guy out. His head was up, he knew where "patches" was going to hit...he didn't hit him too hard, or in the head, but he made the conscious decision to put the guy into the stanchion. To me, this is intent to injure...and if Chara played for my team, I would still believe this.

like i said, the only people that think it's dirty are habs fans... league officials included.
Actually I am far from a Habs fan, but, I still think it was dirty, and, that he knew exactly what was going to happen. Oh, well...the decision has been made. Makes me laugh when I see the 10 game suspension that was handed out last week for a hit that was 1/10 as vicious. Chara has been walking a fine line lately, his will come...

Wow, are people blind here??? Chara pushes the guy right into the turnbuckle...
It's clear as day... Watch it again and tell me that Chara didn't push "Patches"...
Let's get something straight, I'm 100% against the "Panzification" of the game, but
this was a dirty, malicious move by Chara, and he should be suspended and fined large. Chara's lucky he didn't kill him.
I totally agree, he was looking right where he was going...total intent to injure...how is it clean when he knows what the outcome will be. I love hitting, but come on, anybody that thinks this was clean...watch it again.

Saw this from Dan late last night, Ryan. Great move, after all the whole point of raising this money is for "a cure" for the disease that has pretty much hit all of us in one way or another.
-
Just watched it, as well, the announcers made the case that travelling at those speeds Chara didn't know where he was,
His head was up, he knew exactly where he was.....dirty hit, all the way...has to be a suspension!

Fantastic, Steve! Some really nice size "whities"!!

Tony and I wanted to hit Simcoe on the weekend, but the weather messed up our plans. We are hoping to get out this weekend. Hope it picks up by then, it's coming to an end.
Good fishing!
That makes three of us, actually four...one week left!!! Starting to get the "steelie" itch now
Nice fish, skeeter!

Awesome stuff, Mike!! Great to see gestures like this, and, the way OFC board members will look out for each other.
Have fun with the new reel, Brian!

Love seeing them in action. Few years back saw one dive like a rocket and scoop up a small pike at Grundy Lake provincial park.
Great pics!!!

That's on my list for this year, will probably chum a spot the morning of the fish-a-thon and fish it later on.
Maybe a bunch of us can get out for an evening of carp. Ryan and I are definitely up for it. They are a fish that I've never specifically targetted before, but, with the OFC tourney including them + the fact that when I have caught them incidentally, they fight really well, I'm ready to give them a go! Lots of the beggars in our local reservoir, here in Woodstock too.

Going to have to get out for one or two of those big carp this year, bud!!

Done! Hope you reach the goal, Jennifer
Wayne, you have every reason to be extremely proud of a special young lady

Frankie, I'm serious here. We really NEED a whitefish to win the tournament...we can't do it without a whitefish...any size! PLEASE. I haven't any in my area.
Have a great and safe time!
I hear you Roy!!!!! Fingers crossed for good ice for one more week.

Great report! I have family up that way, too...uncle and aunt that live on the outskirts of Astorville, but, I've only fished Nosbonsing once...never on the ice.

Welcome to the OFC...great intro. Was up at Restoule with my better half/fishing buddy last summer, and, we too had a blast.
Look forward to seeing/reading reports!

Suffix 832 is going on my new Citica, hope it lives up to the hype. Have read a number of articles, and, reviews...definitely sounds like it is worth a shot.

Ps. I've already got permission for larger boats again
Nice work, Ryan!! The funniest thing last year was all our boats "blasting off" with the electrics
It's great that the conservation authority will allow our boats in without having to strip off the motors, and, you definitely don't need more than an electric motor at DC.
