  1. Just a heads up. My favourite grub for walleye (Yum pink and white) are avaiable at the local Giant Tiger for 97 cents per 8 pack. A 15 pack at CTC is 4.99 here. I bought 63 packs (mixed up the colours).

I don't know if they are available at all stores but definately worth a look.

Wow, great deal! Not sure if the GT is open yet here in Woodstock? The better half made me a believer in Yum last year...it pretty much kicked Gulp's butt!!!!

  2. Must have missed this post the other day. I think you are definitely onto something Shawn. Depending on when and where, I'd love to lend a hand as well...work schedule can be a little tough for me in the summer, but, I agree with Ryan...."keep me in the loop" as well. :thumbsup_anim:

  3. Iunderstand these people that stand shoulder to shoulder in what can't be more than 20 by 10 foot pool.

The main reason I stay far away from any of the tribs on opener. Was much more enjoyable for me to be on an inland lake with plenty of elbow room and peace.

That, said...sounds like you had a great opener anyways Copper!! Good news on the pre-opening bust as well!

  4. Haha thanks guys! Haha thanks guys! Haha thanks guys! Haha thanks guys!

    Oops! :whistling:

It was awesome to get out with my dad even if it was just for a few minutes! He had to help me summerize my lawn tractor, boat motor and so on or we would have fished longer...He's coming back to fish the bass opener derby with me which I'm really looking forward to as I haven't gone bass fishing with him in a while!

Now the family is about to head back to Sudbury and leave me with 3 tired kids and a wife with a bad case of the flu!

FYI - not very many ppl fish jerkbaits for resident brownies but I'm here to tell you they work, and the fish go ballistic when you hook'em! Lots of fun!

Thanks and have a great week!

    Ryan

Way to go, bud!! Glad you made it out, and, with your dad is even more special!! I'll have to try some jerkbaits there next time. I pounded the water with spinners, spoons, and, small crankbaits...not even a whiff. Had to resort to "ye olde garden hackle" to get any takers.

  5. Juli and I got out with her dad and brother, Scott, for an afternoon of beautiful weather and a couple of take home beauties. Couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather.

    Couple of photos...

First fish we've ever kept from this spot, but, it's been awhile since a fresh fish dinner. Hope everyone had as much fun on opening day as we did!

  6. Great thread, Paul!!

I've made some darn good friends on this board, like others here, I belong to a few others as well, but, OFC is home base.

I just have to stay away from the classified section  See waaaaaaaaaay too many good deals on here for fishing "stuff".

  7. Happy B-Day, Brian!! Nice gift!

Have a guy that has worked for us the last three springs who has an insane amount of Dale Jr, stuff...you guys and your "dinky cars", LOL!!!

  8. Great stuff, as usual, buddy!! The kids will be nailing those panfish there before you know it. The cold weather this spring has everything behind...Juli her dad and I hit one of my favorite piers on Saturday, looking for some 'bows, ended up catching and releasing three gorgeous little brown trout in ridiculously close to shore. The water temps are really low.

Nice work on the kennel, too :thumbsup_anim:

  9. Great stuff, Mike! Love the videos, and, the excitement in the little ones voices!

Little stocked trout ponds are where my mom and dad got me hooked on fishing many years ago...most of those places don't stock anymore, but, at least there are opportunities such as this for today's youngsters :thumbsup_anim:
