Hit the lake at 10 oclock after 2 hrs of watching the weather network, could only fish the protected side of lake .Luckily threw a couple of spinnerbaits in my bass stuff.Easily landed 25 to 30 fish, lost that many,6 decent smallies, rest were pike ,even got a 3lb eye, wasnt sure of the slot so put her back along with the rest of them.Miserable day,got rained on 20 times, but the dirtier, the fish got more aggressive.threw the same bait for 7 hrs ,had 50lb power pro bit off twice, not a bad day for fishing one piece of structure....

I may have missed a couple at the start ,2 for 10, and probably some in the middle and more at the end,but i think i'm the one that who strategically guided the boat to allow us to hook in to those double and triples.Hey,I'll take a tripled header over a couple of missed fish any day.lol.Another awesome day with Capt. Emil.It almost turned out to be the best day ever when we saw the suv of our Lord and Savior, turned out it was his brother wayne.Oh well, can't have it all,nor can you catch 'em all!!!

Slayin' pigs in Lake O with Capt Emil

Cohos,chinooks....still fight of a lifetime.... -
Hooked up with Emil early this morning, drove to bronte to do some down rigging.First time out on Lake O ,headed out to a waypoint on the lowrance which was barely visible with all the lines going thru it,better known as the spider web.Action was hot and cold.went 12 for 20.my fault for not reeling fast enough, damn cheater.Had the pleasure of taking my heaviest fish, after doing this for 40 yrs,a 28 lbs coho.I guess they're not big lund fans or maybe a yankee,'cause this thing headed for Buffalo. No problem, just put the boat in reverse and back to it.Capt Emil informs me that that aint happening so after 20 mins or so of praying not to get spooled, finally she was netted anfd released.I just get my arse in the chair when the dipsy rod starts ripping.God had mercy on me ,only 22lbs.Awesome day out there, the weatherman was bang on the money, and my left arm is starting to have feeling again. Thanks again Emil, might have to put some of those fancy riggers on the tracker!!!!!!!!!!!pics to follow if Emil can get away from the smoker.

went to lake st john to slay some hugh smallies, first two hours spent taken the ice out of the guides,6 hrs fishing, notta bite, didnt even see one,not even a perch or sunfish, expected to see millions of dead ones down by the factory after not seeing one for six hours, nothing,a guess they justshut down.talked to guy fishing with minnows ,nothing.surface temp 44 to 48.is this typical for these temps ? anybody experience the same demise????????

bought an extra deep cell batteries for my 12 v trolling motor, hooked them up in parallel, just wondering if i charge them separately(which would be a pain)or can i charge them hooked up as they are.secondly is there anything i can measure with a multimeter that tells me theyre fully charged.i have an automatic shutoff charger i bougt from crappy tire last year and now im starting to doubt it.i borrowed my neighbors charger(better one than mine) been charging for a while and theyre still not fully charged. What the f am i doing wrong???sadly im an electrician but dc is not my thing............

hey johnny, any relatives in cb,met a guy who managed a pub in ajax ,after talking to this guy and my mom whos still fishing in the margaree river, turns out his grandfather and my grandfather were brothers, going back 100+ yrs.didnt know this guy from adam.you could be hoarding honey holes from a distant cousin....i know of a couple of old timers that do well down there, fishing the tidal water .....guys i fished with when i was a kid are still fishing but theyve turned it up a knotch....1000 lbs tunas, shark, cousin got one last year,8hrs on the rod,950lbs,towed him around pei...a couple of those would take the gut of mercer...........
-
in cb only lake with specs is lake ainisle or one of the thousand in the highlands,or youre in around antigonish.........
-
grew up on the margaree river, slayed the seatrout when i was a kid, havent fished down there in twenty years, going back this summer, buddy of mine owes me a trip to the highlands.specs,snowcrab,keiths...........consumed in large quantities in no particular order.

first one on the lake, there at 7:30,they only open at 8,fall hours i guess.off at noon soaked to the bone and practically frozen, thank god the fish were biting, landed at least a dozen pike, typical hammer handles,1/2 ounce booyah spinnerbait,,shad pattern, with a 3/0 trailer hook ,which i think is a must, and probably 10 largemouth, honest 2 to 3 lbers, all on 4" senko rigged wacky on a 5/0 hook, blue with purple flake.i dont get it but these dang things are awesome,i dont think color matters.i get my kids to pick the color they like.basically flippin it max 10 ft,sometimes i'd see the line tick, other times the line would just go straight.i'm no bass guru but it sure does build your confidence.had one bass break off, probably 30 more hits attack the spinnerbait, more hammer handles, well worth the drive.one problem, most of the bass caught less than 4 ft of water, they got one direction to go,that's up.good for tv but sucks when you,re paying a buck a bait.if anybody knows how to secure these things to the hook,if at all possible, any info would be appeciated........my neighbor was telling me that i should be running braid when fishinf senkos???? i got power pro on my pike rods, but mono on my bass gear..do bass see the line or even care???

well ,the boy outfished the old man again, fished for pike with no success so we focused on catchin' smallies. 2nd cast...... we probably put a dozen in the boat, his caught on a dang worm, single hook, cost 2 cents,mine,10 4" senkos,$1o,go figure....my best... all fish relating to rock structure, lots of algae, dont know if its just starting or finishing its cycle... talked to a local at the launch, walleye guy, trolls 13' to 20' on a long line, wally divers, perch pattern, slays em all day... 1.4 to 1.6 mph is essential,or, as he put it,you might as well put you're dick the water... all and all ,still a good day, better days to come soon.......
-
