just purchased a pair of used rhino trolling combos. when I got home I realized one is missing the little clutch lever and screw. I have contacted Zebco and another place think it was mikes reel repair. total for the parts was like 2.00 or less and shipping like 30.00
there has to be a better way
rhino RBCXL2 50 Clutch Lever Screw EI053-01 53 Clutch Lever GI142-01
so looking for options

found the above info on the reel I'm pretty sure thats it I see it has some first's on it and lasts

- 1954: The "Cap 54." The first full bail. Round aluminum winder knob replaced by flattened plastic knob. The first with planamatic gears (which leads to a short rant - as near as I can tell all the round bodies from this time on, including the first 304's, had planamatic gearing. It was only the later model 304's and 340 that abandoned it, so it is incorrect to say that the 314 is a 304 with changed gearing as everyone does. The later model 304's have the changed gearing, the 314's remained true to the end.) Reel 7

pole for guides or the side bunks which is better
Remember my boat is fibreglass

ok I have 2 old penn setups I want to put lead core on I saw the vids on knots but can I leave some of what the line is on the reel now as a backing and tie my core on to it
and use some of the old stuff for leader also
I know sounds like I'm cheapping out but this is all just a lets try it out thing -
my new to me bow rider is curently being covered by a big grey tarp
I think it needs a boat cover
I'd really like a custom mooring cover but dont think it will fit budget
what are people buying that make them happy and work/last

So after a long hard job of putting a new transom into the boat I got in the fall
I took it out for test drive on Sat
well it didn't go as planned
seems i never checked the outdrive for oil and or it was not filled in the right manner
anyway bottom line is I lost the top bearing in the drive
I have located and should have all the required bearing by the weekend but I need someone with the special tools to come and shim it for me
Yes I could go to a shop but so far I'm looking at a 3 week wait and no true $ amount for doing the job
so if anyone could help me out that is with in reasonable distance from Delhi I will go to your place or you come here
let me know
-
ok so I just replaced the wood transom in my boat and the process required me to remove about 3 feet of the floor and some of the foam from the rear of the boat
I would like to put the foam back in but not sure where to get it at a cost effective way I dont think buying the cans of spray foam will be cost effective
suggestions welcome -
Bond is good only few spot to drool in
Thanks a ton
-
I will send him message your looking for him
-
Very big thank you to HTHM for coming to my place to help put my transom back into the boat.
it was the big scary job that I was worried about
not removing clamps till mid Sunday or later
I hope this works out
thanks again you were a big help
-
well i'm to grinding most of transom but I have found some loose glass and not sure what to do there
also the piece of wood that was glued to fibreglass also extended down past what I want to call 2 bunks
I'm hoping to dig the wood out of this slot then build a couple of pieces to fill in that area to the top of the bunks then have transom sit on these
does that make sense rather than tear up the bunks (stringer to side of boat and I think contain foam

ok last layer this is the one bonded to the glass
going to need to be careful and looks like most will be hammer and chisel going to try and cut line tru with skill saw but not sure its going to work as my saw is bulky so alot of the area wont get relief cuts
any suggestions its 1/2 plywood then glass
-
so got a little time on Thursday to work on the boat I got the first layer off. really surprised at how the factory did this. I took my skill saw and set blade depth just shallow of first layer and cut grooves all over with thought I was going to be taking it out in small chunks. well I got in between the layers with pry bar and th layer started to pop and separate. I got my hands in and pulled and removed it in almost full piece.
turns out they glued it and stapled it. the next layer isn't even a complete one piece it has a bunch of pieces cut to fit tight to each other . will have to be careful now as if i pry i can see the outer fibreglass move a little

years ago 15=20 I was fishing with a buddy in long point in his small boat when a small rain started . We slipped into a small cut in the bull rushes and were fishing for pan fish. he pulled out this bottle about shape and size of a mickey. He said watch this and he put 2 drops in the water and the fish were going nuts after it. it smelt like black liquorish (anise) it was amazing I have never forgot that because of the effect. I curently do not use any but I'm thinking of trying some.what do you use or have tried what works
Crazy deal on turkey /fish fryer. 25 bucks.
