  1. How many reports has GM taken about sticky pedals? And it's not just a physical issue, it's also a software issue within the ECU itself...

If there was a reason to recall, GM would issue one.

Were did you here this there have been some speculation about a ECU problems but I haven't seen anything other then speculation. the fix is adding a postage stamp size weight to counter act the interfearance on the bushing that causes the sticking, takes 10 minutes to install. if it was just ECU issues they would just flash it and be done with it. GM should be taking it upon themselves to fix there vehicles to save the problems, since they are aware of it. if someone was to get hurt in the mean time it would be devastating for their public image not to mention the affect on anyone involved in a accident or fatality hopefully no one else gets hurt as a result of this mess.

  2. I've been watching this since I am a employee and find it interesting that there has been no mention of the 220000 ford vans that have the same pedals in them or that the pontiac vibe is the exact same car as the matrix and uses the same components, along with many other manufacturers that get there accelorators from CTS. I'm glad my employer is trying to fix this as quickly as possible and bieng as upfront as they can be (due to class action suit filed against them). I have a feeling this will turn out for the better for toyota in the long run because of the HUGE focus on saftey and quality in the assembly departments hopefully resulting in some more quality awards for Canadian made Toyota vehicles.

  3. Phil Edmonston was on the radio yesterday and I believe he said that Toyota has know about this for six years and did nothing.

Well there ya have cause the media is always right EH!!! These suspect accelorators were only put into production in 2007 so this Phil Edmonston is full of Bull if ya ask me speculation helps no one not to sure why you dislike toyota so much but they are one of southwestern ontarios largest employer and claims like that should not be put out without absolute proof.

  4. Sooooooooooooooooo, what are all the Toyota owners going to do when the problem in fact doesn't go away after the pedal replacement...oh yah, go faster.

Funny, talking to a friend who works in the cambridge vacility today, he says the Streetsville CTS manufactured part is exactly the same as the one from its parent company....Hmmm and wonders why they would put it in 4million cars if it was in fact the problem, which he is very sceptical about.

If it turns out this does fix the problem then its a design issue not CTS.

This is completely the supplier not a design issue the bushing in the pedal is causeing it to release slowly I looked at one today and let's face it they have to much to loose with this they have no choice but to fix the problem to protect their good name and yes I am a employee and believe I build quality vehicles.

  5. Ahh I think that whole pedal thing is way over rated, look on the good side at least you know it's gonna really go!

    I'd take the Toyota!

Yes it is I looked at the accelorator out of a recalled vehicle today and it is a bushing inside that could get stuck if this does happen you can put your toe under and pull it out or just put the brakes to the floor and shut it down

Toyota makes a good quality vehicle and is going to do everything possible to fix this mess and in the mean time I get to do some fishing next week

Go with the tacoma you will love it I would have bought one but couldn't find a quad cab in my price range.

  6. I own a 2007 TUNDRA and it hasn't been back to the dealership since I purchased it in 6/07....got the silly letter from Toyota that my TUNDRA "might" be involved with the recall because of the floor mats.....my factory floor mats are anchored down with hooks so they cannot slide under the accelerator pedal....needless to say I haven't heard back from Toyota since about Oct '09.......but if my truck was under the recall all you had to do is remove the frigging floor mats until you took it back in to Toyota for them to probably install the anchor hooks that prevent the mats from sliding forward and MAYBE under the accelerator pedal.........IS THIS THE BEST THE TOYOTA HATERS HAVE TO HANG THEIR HATS ON.......GIVE ME A BREAK.

Billy Bob take your truck in to get the accelorator pedal replaced the initial reports said it was the mat but they have now released new info (communicated to employees and a press release before x-mas) that the problem was the pedal itself and taking out the mats or having anchor hook does not fix the problem. It is free and doesn't take long 2 bolts and 1 wire conection prolly take a half hour

  7. thanks for the info. thats good to know. i didnt think it would be a problem fishing in a conservation area though. is it closed in the winter or something??

Yes it is closed early fall and there are no trespassing signs by the dam but not sure if they are ment to keep people off the dam or out of the park completely suprised there were only 4 groups out with the ice on LPB getting to be unsafe thought there would be lots out today.

  8. Hey fishermike I fish there a lot in the summer and I'm pretty sure there is no way to get in without tresspassing not to say people don't fish there through the ice and have never heard of anyone being charged but thought you should be aware of it and make your own decision fishing can be good from what I hear GL

  9. I don't think this landowner would let anyone on his property. He's a peice of work tried to ask him where his property started and ended and got screamed at by his wife who seemed to have some serious mental issues possibly caused from using cheap drugs like paint or glue :o she was screaming at me at the top of her lungs :blahblah1: when I was a couple feet away from her in my car.I have been keeping an eye on his ever growing junk piles and when they get to large I will return the favour by calling the MOE cuase I'm sure he's not properly disposeing of the fluids from the junk vehicles back there. Vinn that spot is nice but the fishing isn't that good any more and it's not worth the hassle
