Ya, still severely iced up on the open lake. Don't know about the channel
Gannon Narrows has been free of ice from just west of the bridge to a couple hundred metres east
Unless we get some serious heat soon, we'll have ice still end of April, maybe May

Got out and cleared mine before it got too warm so it was still nice and light. Then the wind came up and drifted a lot of it back in. It has warmed up enough now that it isn't drifting any more and things are starting to melt again. I sure hope this is the last of it though!
Thanks Guys.
I'm hoping for a slow melt.

They were bang on for my area last night, both with the amount of snow and the time it would start and stop. They also said we'd get some sun this afternoon and that's exactly what we have right now.
Course it's not very often that happens
Hey Lew, our cottage is west of Buckhorn.
Still have a foot on the roof. How much snow did you get last night?

Went thru the same process last few years and hate to part with cash.
After much help from guys on this site, went with Honda PGE 420 Canadian Trail Edition
You need to sort out if you want :
Power steering
Independent rear suspension
Fuel injection
CVT or not. All are CVT except Honda
Single, 2UP, or side by side
Over and over again I heard from experienced guys that the Japanese machines are more reliable.
Almost everybody says go with power steering and fuel injection.
For trail riding, independent rear suspension will give you more ground clearance and a smoother ride
For towing or other farm work, most guys prefer a solid rear axle
Side by sides and even 2UPs are not legal on any roads, even with no passengers
I saw in a recent outdoor magazine that Honda still has their $1000 off for some 2013 models
My other choice would have been Yammy. The 450 with power steering -but doesn't come with fuel injection
The Yammy 550 EPS has it all but is around $10K. My Honda was $8100 in camo plus HST including rebate
The last thing you want is a stupid breakdown in the middle of no-where. Then an expensive repair bill on top.
So far so good with the Honda but hardly broken in. Talk to me in 5 yrs

spent a ton of time considering same thing.
wanted 4x4. tow 5000 lb. not too hard on gas
Preferred an SUV. Want my stuff inside.
Settled on Toyota 4Runner last fall
So far so good Ask me in 5 years.

Cool.
Nature of Things did a whole show on wolves/coyotes
Seems Coy-wolves are the predominant species (cross) in Ontario other than the far north.
