  1. that video gives me chills he sat out over 10 games prior to that fight, he later revealed that he returned for that game with a separated shoulder he was a gamer
  2. Wade was my favorite Leaf for years. Between his style of play, personality, tsn and 102.1 spots he was hard not to love. He did one spot on tsn where he suggested that he became an enforcer so he wouldnt steal Sundins thunder as a goal scorer. When questioned on the topic he referenced his minor hockey stats in Saskatoon. I have a Belak Jersey that I wore to many games and was never able to get autographed. 2 years ago with the news of the trade to florida I contacted his agent. He was able to get my jersey signed and shipped back to me. Wade was a solid guy who wont be forgotten.
  3. Thanks again guys, Lots of good stuff to be learned here
  4. didnt wanna hi-jack Matts thread, but its got me thinking. I currently use cheap cutters (havent bought the knipex) and I find it really tough to cut some hooks that are deep in the throat. Its always doable - but, I wish my cutters were as long as my needlenose. Are longer mini bolt cutters on the market? bought a set of these needlenose off a matco tool truck - best money ive spent on fishing tackle and highly reccomended....very stong. http://www.gearwrench.com/catalog/pliers/double_x/ Also, split rings. The ones I have arent tapered in like some of the ones on my lures. Can anyone reccomend somewhere to get good split rings that are tapered in? They make for really easy changes. Am I looking at a trip to into JB's? Ive looked around home and cant find them. Any insight.
  5. Thanks very much everyone - so i guess im out of luck for the first morning if we arrive at night
  6. Quick question - Im heading over to the PofQ next weekend. Can I get a license anywhere prior to going? Is there a 7 day license or something I should be buying? Ive looked on the website and dont see any options? Say I show up at night, I would hope to fish in the morning. Any insight? kf

  10. before i had my sportspal I used 2 c-clamps and a couple pieces of wood - this makes a sturdy base for the trolling motor to sit on.....I would just make sure all my clamps and my motor were on tight....and i offset the battery to balance the canoe

  14. so in the bonehead move of the year (so far) i broke one of my musky rods on a snag (rope tied to cinder block). it started to move and i figured it was a piece of wood. Brilliant i know, anyways i need to replace the rod, im looking for the following criteria -2 piece -troll or cast -not ridiciously expensive i fish the kawarthas and ive got a abu c3 6501 to go on this rod. the rod i broke was a rapala magnum i picked up for $60 and i really didnt have a problem with it. im just looking for some suggestions - 2pc seem to be not all that popular from what i have seen. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks kf
  15. Great info in this thread guys - and thnaks to all for the shared knowledge i credit posts like these for all the fish ive put in the boat
  16. there was a really good feature article on nosbonsing in ontario out of doors within the last couple of years. perhaps its still available
  17. Generally they set up just on the side of a road or a waterway. The charge that is laid is either "discharging a firearm from a road way, vehicle, or a boat" none of which are legal. generally I would assume people would have to be pretty brave to be running around with a high powered rifle and ammunition or a dead moose out of season. But thats not to say they dont.
  18. [quote no dock in the shot either lol beauty fish
  19. Right on - Nice buck I hope i get as lucky 400 yards is quite the drag you might wanna change the name of your thread to muzzle loader - people might get the wrong idea about your ancestry.....hahaha
  20. I hunted grouse with my 12g 870 for 1 year and then i bought my mossberg .410 pump - i much prefer the .410 for grouse up north of sudbury as I really dont have to do much wingshooting for them up there I bought the .410 used on gunnuts for like $200 or $250 - I like it but as its been stated the 3 barrel 870 combo will do anything - i think ive got 1k into mine now with sling and scope/chokes
  21. grouse opened yesterday -- headed north tomorrow for that and some northern pickeral fishing and maybe some pike if the birds are slow - October first is also a big day - had a great season last year looking to keep the whitetails rolling
  22. be careful - its an addiction and over 12 hours without a fish is a stretch you might have to do from time to time congrats
  23. a good set of tires will get you through the snow - and if thats youre only concern - buy a bike woth lots of ground clearance that powersports website i posted will show you the ground clearance specs for all the different machines like i said before i have a "little 400" with less than 10" clearance - a set of mud tires and it always get me to the deer stand in the snow
  24. you will get years of reliable relitively maintenance free performance from a honda machine. Preferably with a solid rear axle. I personally own a 400 suzuki eiger. However my family own hondas - I could not afford one. The suzuki i chose was as close to a honda as you could get without the price tag. The hondas last forever and that to me is worth more than having a 700twin with this and that. I used a website called powersportsnetwork.com - i think - it has all sorts of reviews of machines and specs and whatnot - I chose a machine based on a reliability rating and the price tag - my opinion
  25. read the new out of doors yesterday and saw mike the bass fisher justin hoffman and ben beatie within the pages - well done guys
