  1. I was watching the telly last night and I happened upon a game.

Seems the Ottawa team lost to the New York Rangers.

Sorry about your loss Matt. :tease::tease:

    Seems that's #4 in a row.

I sure hope the Leafs don't lose 2 more games in a row as then they would be just as bad as the Sens. :whistling:

Here's hoping the Leafs extend your losing streak to 6 on Saturday (that is if you manage to lose to the Blues on Friday). If not we'll just start your next losing streak!!! :rofl2: :rofl2:

  2. Thanks for trying to help guys, I guess I'm just too old or too stupid. I downloaded overdrive to her kobo but then all I get is the welcome screen telling me how wonderful overdrive is and how easy it is to use. I can't get anything past that.

    I give up!

    Don't feel bad Cliff.

I had one of the instructors here at the college get a Kindle and she asked me to figure out how to work it. The instructions were on the unit but I found it impossible to figure out how to change the dang page!!!!

I told her "you're on your own" :D

And I am a tech guy!!!!!

I just use Wattpad on my Blackberry as an ereader. ;)

  3. This is a little project I built for my folks quite some time ago but never had any pics of it. I took a couple of shots last month when I was back in Ontario.

Got a lot of hours into this beast and it was built with no plans and just a rough sketch. B)

It is made of solid pine (except the back. This was 1/4" pine plywood).

  4. When I built the workshop in our place back in Ontario I built my work benches with the front supports angling back toward the wall. Sort of in a triangular fashion if you know what I mean. This made it much easier for sweeping/cleanup and kept the front supports from getting in the way.

The frame and supports were 2x4's and the top was 3/4" G1S plywood.

This bench was 20' long and went along 2 walls wrapping around an outside corner. :D

Here's a crude drawing to help visualize it.

I also built a 6'X6' assembly table on wheels that I could roll around the shop as needed.

The top was 1 1/4" Melamine coated MDF. A little overkill but it was free. ;)

  5. Toro are a good machine. ;)

As for size 28"-30" and 10-12 HP is a good all around size.

When I lived back in Ontario I used a 10HP 30" maching to do my 200' driveway and it would take about 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours depending on snow depth.

When we get those big winter storms with the high winds it was not up to the task as the snow got hard like concrete in our wide open driveway. When that happened we just called up one of the neighbours with a tractor and blower combo. There's no way a small blower like that is going to handle 5' deep drifts that a 200# man can walk on without breaking through. :whistling:
