Hey guys I was looking for a canoe for fishing and paddeling streams rivers with my wife this season. I have canoed before butt i would like something i could putt a small motor on probaly a electric .. i would probaly fish out of it also most of the time .. does any have any good ideas? I was looking into a coleman 16' butt i have heard bad reviews on stability... thx guys any advice would be great.....

I was out friday in the rain and caught nothing I think i got wetter than the fish... the river (bradford) was high and muddy... im going to try again on sunday ..

Hello I recently moved to a new house and we have a pond in the back aprox a little smaller than a quarter acre it is about 10-15 feet deep in the deepest area.. it is fed by a well and my guese would be 20 gallons an hour and has a discharge that goes into a small stream aprox 30 yards away..I would love to get some fish for the children to fish and I may even throw a fly or two at them once and a while.. Does any one have any information on this issue im not sure how to go about this p.s I would love to get the Boy fishing in it this summer if possible.. Thx guys tight lines

Hey Drop shot I just read your post after posting my own about crappie fishing .. welcome to the board, It's very helpfull as you will find out soon.. I will post my findings on the crappie hunt. Hey guys I moved to the holland river area last fall and am watching In anticipation as the ice melts for some soft water fishing. With little reserch, I have read that crappies are at there best in the rivers as soon as the ice is melted.. Any information would be apreciated having never targeted these slabbs before. I have a 12' aluminum and motor and have easy acces to bradford or holland landing . thx again guys .

My brother was visiting a friend 100 yards away from his hutt on his sled he left the friends hutt to go back to his hutt, he stopped to get off his sled and noticed he had left "forgott" his phone ,He drove back to the friends hutt like 2mph without putting his helmett back on ..$110.. bucks.... like realy you could have thrown the phone over .. I thought that was a little much... On the last day out there 2 of my friends were fishing for whitie on sleds . one with a tow behind sleigh and the other with out . being buddies they putt all there gear in the sleigh so one didnt have to carry a nap sack .. they fished, both caught there limits and headed back to shore. Once on shore the C O .. mett them ..looked in the buggy and there were 4 whitfish in the buggy. my friends told the co the story politly and honestly ." WE ARE ALWAYS POLITE FRIENDLY AND PLAY BY THE RULES" the C.O fined the driver for over limit and tock 2 white fish... I have fished with my brother and others all season with a tow behind sleigh he has allways carried our catch back to shore and we are allways following for the ride in . once on shore I will take my fish out of the buggy and drive home I never thought that it was a problem.. He has carried well over 8 fish so we didnt have to carrie them on our sleds .. what would happen if we got pulled over and explained what happened??? Whatch out if they need there Quota they will get it any way they need to ........ ......What away of treating us just sickens me .....

There are the Stupid and the smart. I think that the law should not BAN trucks and cars on the ice .But I do think that there should be strict penalties for these idiots that put other people at risk . I have seen some flying by at 100km and think that they should have there licence taken away for careless driving . I saw some fool driving a jeep with no muffler a few times well over 80km/h aimlessly driving around and in very close to hutts and other vehicles I just shake my head and think that he must have shaken the brains from his head!! hitting to much rough ice. Butt those idiots should not ruin it for the rest of us who play safe out there . A few years back on cooks bay a car was speeding real close to the hutts and I saw a older guy come out from his hutt take a peice of 2x4 for jacking up the hutt and bounce it off his hood . He drove right off the ice never to be seen again , If he stopped to make a sceen im sure he would have been walking off the ice (limping).. mabey a licence plate # should be taken . If possible and reported to the proper authorities there must be a solution out there .. Im thinking about caring a foot long 2x4 and if they are in range and deserve it they wear it.... Just my 2 cents play safe

That is one of the most tragic things I have ever heard . A mans wife is his world and the child they share is the greatest thing a man could dream of . loosing your world like in a splitt second .. My heart goes out to this poor soul This brought tears to my eyes ... God Bless......

I am planning a week long trip up to the mazinaw lake area ( cloyne) is there any one here that is farmiliar with the area? there is a few little lakes around mazinaw I was thinking about trying for some lakers. I have never fished intentionaly for trout in the summer but would love to try it . realy I have no idea were to start depth/preasentation/time of day /water temp/or time of season? I have just started looking for information and thought this place would be my best place to start.. thx everyone and tight lines....

My sheltie fought and got sprayed a few years ago . lett me tell you I went threw 3 bottles of skunk be gone. tomatoe juice.. poroxide and dish soap . baking soda and tonic water.. everything i could find.. The fine fur of this little guy wouldn"t let the smell go away.. I think after 4 months and 40 bathes it was still linguring .. Good luck with the battle..

Hey guys has any one ventured out from j.p in the last few days? I was out in the truck on wed/thursday started to look a little scarry.. there are a few cracks out of the point that had me a little nervous never the less thursday was my las time with the truck... I still have a hutt out there and am grabbing it on monday. Oh and for fishing wed, my self and a friend limmited by noon on whitefish and 2 trout , thurs we drove out to the crack near willow beach we were on the east side 6 guys started @ 830 limmited on whitefish by 11 went back to the hutt had some deer sausage and was back home by 100... great couple of days...

Any one know whats going on with the lake simcoe fishing message board? what a time to shutt her down one more week of fishing ... does any one have any lake conditions for lake simcoe Fridays 16 degree weather with rain ?

Just wondering about different peoples views of catching and realeasing white fish from lake simcoe I have allways left after my limmit or switched depth and presentation for lakers? after being limmited on whitie I caught 1 whitfish wich was 15 feet off bottom on a single 3 inch minnow. I was looking for trout and it was realeased. what do you think its chances for survival are? cheers

Thats a great catch .. I caught one just under 12 lb a few years back .. they are a strange creature... Simcoe holds some bigguns .. congratttss.... I hope you get it listed as a record .. cheers
