So I am being " forced " to take the wife on a holiday and we are going to St. Lucia and staying at the Windjammer Landing, has any one been and did any shore fishing? We are leaving on Nov. 13 and staying for 2 weeks so I will have a bit of time to try and play a bit considering that all summer I have not had a chance to fish at all. Lets not rush things, all summer I have been working on land clearing and then getting the bunkie ready so I have not fished at all. Last week was the first time out chasing some steelhead and I plan on doing a lot more of that hopefully all we need is some darn rain to raise the rivers as they are so so low. FLEX - John

Well I finally finished insulating my 9' x 12' x 14' Bunkie with a loft and now I am looking at finding a good heater for it. The Bunkie was build by some Amish so it is solid wood and the roof is metal, like I said the roof is insulated but the rest of it is not except the floor which I laid down some under pad and then laminate flooring. The power is being supplied via a generator and I did buy an infrared heater that worked great for about 1 hour and then just quit working would not even turn on promptly returned the next day. Help, I need to have heat in the Bunkie so that when I go up I can spend a night or two. Looking forward to reading your replies, Thanks FLEX - John

Thanks for the question folks, I do not expect to run that much off of it concurrently, a light a small heater of some sort it is a 9' x 12' x 14' bunkie and my computer and charge my cell phone. During construction phase just some basic power tools that is why I have settled on the 4-5000 watt so I hope that this helps. Thanks FLEX

Well folks, since we have bought the property in Eugenia, I have been busy trying to clear some of it so that I could get a shed / bunkie on it. Well I got my call that the bunkie will be delivered on Wednesday so now I need to get a generator for it and for the future construction but I have no clue regarding size and which brand to look at or better stated which brand to stay away from. The only thing that I do know is that it should be at least 4000 watt probably 5000 but that is all any help in what size and what brand would be a great help. Thanks FLEX

Thanks Dan, I took a quick look, interesting will have to spend some more time on this topic. Fortunately, I have some experience with this as I have been in the PM world for 25 years and when we bought our house it was a shell only and I played General then and then when we did the basement also. My cousin is on holidays but he is an architect and his father is a engineer so I am hoping to utilize some of their knowledge Unfortunately, we will be well and septic but thanks for the tip on the well, I have heard that from a few people.

I was glad to see that the truck already had the plastic bed liner, one less thing to try and work into the deal and one less thing to have to get done. The step ups get installed today and then all I have to find is a place that can cut me a spake key for the tail gate as the one that I have is an after market one that was dealer installed but I only have the one key for it and I want a spare. Trying to find a place that can cut the key is turning into a challenge, I have only been able to find one place and they are down on Mount Pleasant so it will have to wait till I go down town next time, does any one have any suggestion as to who else could cut me a key? After almost a year of looking at " houses / cottages " around Lake Eugina we finally realized that for what was available in the range that we wanted to spend that we would be better off just buying a lot and building, because 90% of what was available would have to be demolished and re built so we just said lets start with a clean slate. Well, we found a 1/2 acre treed lot 2 minute walk from the Lake and we should even have a bit of a lake view when the trees are bare . The lot is treed so our first step is to clear it so that I can put up some kind of temporary bunkie / shack up so that we can start to use it, hence my question...... I have chain saw no stranger to hard work when land clearing how low do you cut so that when it comes time to remove the stumps you don't create more work by either cutting too much or leaving too much behind? Are there any members here that do this, if so I would really like to speak with you as we close on July 26 yes 3 weeks away and I really want to get a running start as soon as I can. The reason for this property was very simple the Dundac, Flesherton, Euginia have the highest elevation in the Ontario and due to my miserable health condition I have found out that the higher elevation makes a huge difference for me, and to boot I am now much closer to some great water to fish. As I said any info would be really appreciated, Thanks, FLEX

Well folks, it was a hard decision but I had to decide and thanks to a few folks, I did end up looking at the Toyota line. Toyota had been great for me with the Highlander so I did end up finding a mint condition 2011 that did not go on the road till January 2012 Toyota Tacoma, that was bought / leased and maintained and traded in also at the same dealer. The truck already had a bed liner and I negotiated a hard folding cover which was installed just before I picked it up on Thursday and also scored a great price for the step ups which will be installed today. Did I get everything that I was looking for, no I did not, but under the conditions did I get what I think was a very good deal, you bet I did and to boot if I really wanted everything I would have had to have spent at least 6 - 7k more pre tax and that just did not make sense to me at this time, my next post will be up shortly which should shed a bit more light. Great feed back folks, and many thanks for bringing up the Toyota Tundra, nice truck.. After driving the f150 and the Tundra, the Toyota has a nice ride, but I am still on the fence about this I really did like the Highlander. At this stage I now really have to look at the $$$ and make the call, stay tuned will update once I have made the purchase. Many thanks, FLEX

Unfortunately I am not looking at new, I would like to keep it under 25k pre tax and see what that gets me age and option wise. But first I have to figure out which truck first and then start price shopping, I do not want the price to dictate rather reliability and comfort and then price. FLEX
