  1. What a coincidence! I'm headed there end of July beginning of August.

    We are driving.

I've gotta lots of info from a friend who drives down there every other year. He said the best way is to drive 12 hrs or so to Edmunston NB and stay for the night. Then drive the rest of the way the next day.

We are renting a cottage in Anapolos Royal on the Minas basin.

Lots to see around there. Port Royal is the oldest settlement in Canada and has over 150 historic buildings to see. Plus the fort there.

Leuninberg is a nice town to see as well. Lots of small shops and the Bluenose II is docked there.

Blue beach is apparently pretty neat. You can walk around and pick up/find fossils everywhere.

Halifax is a beautiful city to tour. Lots of great food. The spot I want to see is the Citadel in the middle of the city.

  2. No they are in plain clothes with something that says police on it.

Clearly they won't know who issues what because certain services have different old clothes identifiers so we can know the difference between the OPP, RCMP etc. but if you're in that much trouble with the CRA you already know people are coming for you. It's not something that comes out of the blue

  3. Yep, do not give them anything CRA does not phone you, email your or come to your house.

If they show up at your house posing as the police demand to see their badge and warrant card. Every cop knows that as per the Police service act we have to ID ourselves and have to have out badges available. If they come to the door call the police right away its fraud

  4. All depends what kind of radar and the brand. Old style sationary radar took one tuning fork for a prescribed speed usually 100km/h, moving took 2 forks one for the vehicle speed one for the target. Newer ones do an internal check. Each radar is calibrated and then checked with its own fork, you shouldn't play switchero. Testing if required should be done prior to using it and after each ticket to ensure it's working within specs and recorded.

Exactly, the unit I use does not require a tuning fork to test accuracy. I test it as per the manufacturers instructions.
