It's not mainstream yet, but that's only a matter of time!!

  2. How about the Shimano Talora? Anyone heard anything about it? I think the St. Croix is going to be it but I want to consider all options.

I started using the Telora's with the Tekota 500 last fall for salmon... best combo I've ever used!

not sure how the price stacks up with the St. Croix, but I found the BP prices to be the best for both Shimano items

  3. diagnosed when I was 30. started losing 2 hrs sleep/night when was 21... 37 now.

-tried CPAP off and on for several years.. can't use it, won't sleep with it on.

    -had the surgery in '03.

    -used several oral appliances.

gave up competitve hockey, baseball and powerlifting over the last 15 years because of it.

    pretty crappy deal all around!

takes alot out of me but I have always been a very upbeat person, almost to an annoyance.

don't let any of this scare you, as I am a rare case.

I never give up tying to find the solution!

    best of luck to you!

  4. Hope you had yourself a good day out there Nomad!

Sounds pretty neat if you're interested in buying a kayak because you get to test paddle a bunch of models and 'try before you buy.'

    Thanks Mike!

It was a bit of monsoon on Saturday but things appeared to have went well.

Several people purchased fishing kayaks and whole lot more got intested in it.

Good to meet a few of you!!

  5. I have the H-bird 535 portable that I use on one of my kayaks. I bought portable to use on the ice as well and got a base for the kayak then attached it to a RAM mount - works real nice.

silicon the transducer to the flatest part of the hull and hook up a gel cell battery

what type of kayak are you putting the sonar on?

there's lots of kayak rigging tips/diplays/help on the Ontario kayak fishing site - Yakfisher.net

BTW - the subject event is running on Sunday as well.

  6. This Saturday May 3 @ Laurel Creek Conservation Area in Waterloo. 9:30am start

This is a great opportunity for anyone who has been kicking around the idea of purchasing a fishing kayak or any kayak for that matter to get out and give some a try!

I was asked to display a rigged yak.

I believe that the fishing yaks, there will be Heritage, Hobie, Native, Ocean and Wilderness Systems.... at least that's what they carry in-store.

Stop by and say "Hi", I'll be the one with the Jack Russell(Gordie) in his PFD pulling the yak all around.

Sorry for the short notice, but I myself was just invited today.

Hope a few of you can make it out!

  7. I fished there a bunch of times last summer. With the water levels as low as they were it was pretty tough on the little electrics thay have on the rental boats. Had some decent luck with the bass, tons of perch and bluegills, never saw a pike though.

exactly why kayak fishing is on the cusp of an explosion in Ontario and Canada

  8. I knew I should have kept my yap shut on this one.

I won't get into as the whole thing is a bit sensitive to me, as I fought with the City of Kitchener for years to not start the trend to ban Pit Bulls and look where it ended up.

The difference between myself and the Council was that I had statistics and scientific fact, where they had fear and numbers.

sorry to stray off the topic.

my best guess would be a Cane Corso or Neapolitan Mastiff..

  9. Don't post here much being, there is not usually much on my area, When the trailer park was built there was an agreement that there would be a 10 ft allowance along the steel wall, and there has never been a problem with access in the past, The fellow that is active superintenant of the park now has seemed to take an intrest in keeping people out of the no fishing zone, if you are fishing in the designated area there is usually not a problem, were you fishing past the sign that says "no fishing beyond this point", if so you don't have a leg to stand on, and also keep in mind to get to the steel wall you are walking through private property, and also keep in mind they have had major problems with erosion in this area, both in the marina and at the end of the steel wall and fishermen up and down the banks don't help this, so to sum it if you are not fishing past the sign you shouldn't have a problem, but step beyond it and this guy is like a vulture on road kill and has every right to kick you out, I fished there all winter without a problem staying in the designated area, or take a bit of a walk and fish the other side if you don't want any controversy.

My understanding is the same as Nate. There is a lot more traffic in the park from fisherman and this fellow is trying to curb it.

You can still get there without crossing his property. Watch what the locals do(follow docks). or just ask

  10. Welcome to the board!
