  1. Durham CA has some brook brown and rainbow trout in the river there. There are a number of small lakes in the area but only 2 I know of with a launch/public access, Bells Lake northwest of Markdale and Wilcox lake southwest of Flesherton Both are on paved 'back' roads and a Grey/Brucemap should give the exact location. As for fish I haven't fished in either

    Hope this helps

  2. I am not in any way asking you to click the google ads (that would be a violation of the terms of service) but I believe clicking is all they count.

10-4 I try and click at least one each visit especially if they are fishing related. I actually have one bookmarked that was a google ad. Thanks for the hard work on the site, everyone appreciates it.

  4. night ferry from there often over to hull to vitist my folks in the UK.

The 7th pic from the top Just of to the right is the Hoek v. Holland ferry terminal Saw one boat take off and one come back. Their size puts the Tobermory-Manitoulin ferry to shame.

We stayed in Westland, Naaldwijk to be more specific. (between Delft and Den Hague)

Do you need a license to fish over there?

Not for fishing in the sea but you do for freshwater.

This guy disturbed our fishing for a few minutes. It was about 350 meters long and kicked up about 3 meter waves

    101_0536.jpg

Vertical jigging is the way to get these guys with live bait rigs (super sized ones again) or with jig and plastic minnows . (don't get snagged on the shipwrecks)

really fun when you have 2 on at once.

I ended up with 10 altogether best about 5lbs but there were some big ones caught and between the 12 guys on the boat we kept about 40kgs once they were all fileted.

Made for one giant fish fry on Tuesday!

    101_0500.jpg

All set up waiting for fish. The rods are on stands about 5' high. We were using about 4oz weights and a home made kind of super sized double pickeral rig (weight on the bottom 2 dropper lines)

    101_0501.jpg

One of 5 small cod we caught. I got this guy and another about the same size. Too early in the year for sea bass.

Saturday afternoon we went to one of the shipping channels near Europoort (Europe's largest container port)

  9. Nice to see some pics from up there and hardly any snow left on the ground. I lived up there for a summer in 1987 as a Junior Ranger worked a lot at Tidewater P.P. and took a few floatplane rides to north point, Polar bear P.P. and Akamiski Island. Saw a beluga in the river headed upstream one day at the park while painting picnic table and cutting grass.

  10. Hey Pauly, if we try hard enough maybe we can get John out of the house some weekend for fishing!

John, got the boat out of storage today. I was thinking of going to LPB today since I was half way there but it looks a little grim and really windy. Fishing from the couch today!

    -Brian

Sorry to hear that. It was 22C and sunny when we took to the sea for some cod on Friday. Report to follow next week when I get back. BTW enjoy the snow on Wednesday!!
