I use 50 lb. Stren Super Braid (yellow) on my dipsy rod, and it's great line. I've probably gotten 6 months of fishing out of it and the colour is still like new, and have had no issues with knot strength or abrasion.
-
What exactly is in the marinade? I'd like to try this.
-
All these reports of huge numbers of catfish makes me bummed that I only caught two...
Nice going.

I was considering going to this, but I can't really afford it at the moment. I'd be more desperate to go had I not gone to see them last March. Easily the best show I've ever attended.
-
On the ice more than anywhere else, I feel useless without a fish finder. Down here, a couple small walleye through the ice is a successful evening.

Beautiful fish.

Nice going. Those are some giant crappie.

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing.

I'll gladly miss it. I don't see the appeal in this show, at all.

Keep me posted!

Could one of you soo boys do me a favour and give me an update on the rivers this coming Friday? If they look good, I'll be coming up next weekend.
-
Good stuff. You're lucky to be fishing those rivers. I've only seen them in the summer. I'd sure love to be up there this time of year.
-
Thanks for sharing. That'll be a trip you'll never forget.
-
I'll be out tomorrow morning.

Ah, ok.
That lake is ridiculously full of perch. I catch them EVERYWHERE, ALL year, on EVERY type of bait, at ANY retrieval speed.
-
Of course not. I was just saying there was a limit. :s
-
The limit on perch in that zone is unlimited, but Simcoe is in the exceptions, and I believe it's 50. I'd never keep that many anyway, but I know it has a limit.
-
Signed.
Over 13 000 now.
-
I'll sell you mine at a vastly inflated price.
-
Great stuff!

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I loves me some wabbit

Depending on the species of fish, sometimes trolling the bait well above will trigger strikes. If you put the diver down ten feet for example, and the bait has a lip that takes it down 8 feet, than it will be at 18 feet. Just don't think you have to place it right in front of their noses every time.
As for planer boards, I've never ran jet divers off of them. I would run deeper baits off jet divers and then shallow runners off of the planer boards.
I hope that helps.

A rod of at least 7 ' 6" or 8' is a must.

I know. So far I've managed to either make an improper sign or forget it all together for everyone one of my successful trips this year.
My apologies.

I've had a lot of problems with Fireline splitting. It drives me nuts. I'd go with either Power Pro or Stren.
