With all the bad news you hear every day and how much our lives are filled with so much negativity, this is fantastic news. I hope this all works out for your family.

A lot of great feedback everyone and although I'm still undecided I will have to continue my research mainly on preference. I guess the best way to do that is to take a small trip to Radioworld and have a look around. Judging by what is being said there all decent and preference will be a determining factor.

Honestly I've been looking at the Lowrance Elite 4 CHIRP with chartplotter and down scanning. I hear a lot of good things about it but don't want to sway any opinions. Would love to get a good general idea of you guys are using and why. I'm hoping as well with the ice ducer that it will double duty for the ice season. As far as summer fishing goes, basically whatever turns me on that day. Could be pike, bass, walleye or even perch.

Alright folks, I'm looking for member support and expertise on this matter. I'm in the market for a fish finder and my only experience has been with Hummingbird. Not that their is anything wrong with that. but I feel I may have been limiting myself to one brand. I'm curious to know what the members on this board prefer and why. What are some of the pros and cons of what you are using. Thanks everyone.

I share your pain lol... I too tried charter fishing and it was incredible. Your pics are great and I hope you get to go often. More importantly with a lot of continued success and memories. Good luck and keep posting those great pics.

A lot of great info guys. I will put this to good use, and hopefully I can report back with positive feedback. I will be at Rice Lake for walleye opener, can't wait to try these methods out.

Thanks for the tip Regan. I'm curious, have you ever fished Rice Lake and if so what areas without revealing any favourite spot. North or South part of the lake do you find better and in what season.

Used at the weed lines in what time of the season. In your opinion more effective in spring or summer? I will be trying my luck this year to target walleye and people in the know could help me shorten the learning curve.
