Hey fil where can I buy a good dry aged Prime Rib Roast?
I have been looking for a good butcher for years with no luck.

Thanks Lew, I didn't think of a Belleville area site.

Thanks RT2

Anybody??

I was thinking of taking a run out to Belleville tonight to try for some Wallys at the pier.
Does anyone know whether or not the ice has formed around the pier or not.
There used to be a guy here on the site that lived in the Belleville area and was at the
pier daily, but I haven't seen him for a long time. His name was martycoo.
Hopefully we have some members in the area.
Thanks

Well to counter that Stan... lol... When I built this house I took a couple of buggies thru Home Depot, in Barrie, and loaded every plumbing fitting and tap I have installed here into it. Not one drips after 13+ years of use. SOme are Moen.. some Delta and some are just "no-name junk"
Perhaps this is something that has started to occur in the last ten years or so but
have definitely seen a difference first hand around the GTA.
We do mostly schools and a lot of them use American Standard, even the plating on these is three times the quality of the chrome plated plastic components that is being used in the residential purchase outlets.
I am sure there are other plumbers on this site who can also attest to this fact.

I work as a Pipefitter/Millwright for a well known Mechanical outfit in the city and have been told on six or seven separate occasions not to buy faucet fixtures at the regular Canadian Tire or Home Depot etc, if you are looking for higher quality fixtures, buy them at the plumbing distributors like Noble Trade, or Brampton Plumbing etc.
The quality of the crap they sell at the regular mans outlet is nowhere near the quality of the trade suppliers. You will pay a little more but you will get solid brass not plastic and there is without a doubt, a big difference in quality.
This goes for Peerless, Moen or any of the top brands.
There is simply a much cheaper grade of fixture being sold in the big residential purchase outlets.
I have been installing fixtures from Noble for years and have also worked on the ones being sold at the other outlets and can attest to the fact that there is a very large difference.
Check for yourself, purchase one of each (same model) and notice the weight difference alone.
A good quality unit from Noble will last for years without having to touch anything.

Thanks guys for all the great comments and good advice.
I will purchase a couple of the suggested baits and post my report with pics (I hope) tomorrow.

Buckhorn, Lower Buckhorn or Pigeon.
I am going with a couple of friends on Sunday and we are trying to decide which of these three areas would be the most productive for Muskie.
Also, I don't have a lot of Muskie gear so I am planning on using my Chronarch spooled up with 80 lb PP on a MH V-Rod, will this be enough?
I only have about two or three large spinnerbaits and a couple of big inline baits so with a little help from all you Muskie guys, I was hoping you could tell me which bait you would buy if you could only have two.
I was also thinking of getting some big huge minnows, any thoughts?
Please let me know.
Thanks

Hey mattones, I have a recent copy of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course Student Handbook which is likely the one that you will be using.
If you are near Ajax, I will lend it to you.
Send me a P.M. and we can chat.

I deep fried ours yesterday 23.50 pounds, took an hour and 15 minutes.
Juicy, perfectly cooked, injected it with melted butter, lawrys seasoned salt, garlic powder and cayenne pepper.
A friend who has done it lots of times brought his equipment and showed me how.
I will definitely do it again.
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

I would be glad to let my buddies know to keep a few and I will keep any that I get this year.
Would love to get a couple of Bucktail jigs or whatever, I have just started to use them for
Walleye and they work great.
Haven't been to confident with them until I went out with a Bass Pro Bud of mine this summer and we slayed the Eyes on Balsam.

Very good advice GCD, you have obviously done some seat work on your past or present rig.
I am in the middle of looking for seats for a project boat I am working on and appreciate all the input.

Hey Victor
Next time you are going out, let me know and I will tell you a couple of spots to try for Walleye and Pike.
I did the PikeMania Tournament there two years ago and we did quite well, probably got about 20 pike for the day. White seems to be the colour on that lake.

Sent you a pm BillM
Here's a map to those spots I suggested.
Go to Fish-Hawk Projects then Ontario Map Project.

Try the image resizer down near the bottom on the right.
It works great for me.
Just install it, right click on the picture you want to resize and presto...

Very nice offer MoiraRiverman, that's why I like this site so much, always someone going out of their way to help fellow board members.
If that doesn't pan out, you could try Ability Metals on Brock rd just South of Bayly in Pickering.
963 Brock Road, Pickering, ON L1W 3A4
Telephone : 905-420-0788
Good Luck.

Hey James, glad to see you finally got here.
You will like it on this site, lots of info and plenty of pics and the people
will answer all your questions (no women or politics questions though) lol
Check out the classifieds for the downrigger and baitcasters you are looking for.
Sorry you missed the action on Balsam today, we did pretty well.
Kept one under the slot and one over which was 25 1/2"
I caught about 6 in the 18" range and Greg did about the same.
We were rippin Bucktails through the weeds.
Sorry, left my camera at home.
We'll hook up next weekend!!

While we are on the subject, does anyone know whether or not there is a slot size on Lake Dalrymple.
I looked for the Lake but could not find it in the regs.
Sorry smalliefisher for taking your thread, just figured it's kind of a similar question.
Thanks

I had a problem with my 40 hp four stroke Merc and these guys were a great help.

I'm planning on going to Nippissing to do some hardwater fishing on the 23rd of Jan and I am trying to research bungalows in the area.
There are probably tons of guys from this site who have had good and bad experiences with different outfitters.
I'm hoping to get some of these experiences to aid in my decision making by the end of the weekend and hopefully I can book it tomorrow evening.
Thanks in advance guys and gals.
