  1. I'm on Rogers in Pickering, can anyone tell me what the channel is supposed to be.

I see a show called "Rome" on the History channel tomorrow at 9:00.

Looked up and down the channels but couldn't seem to find it.

Looks like a very interesting show though.

  2. Couldn't sleep, going to do some perchin at Simcoe.

I have heard that the perch are on fire in the Virginia Beach area so I decided to try it out.

I will post a little later with all my pics. lol

If anyone else is going out, good luck to ya and be careful.

  3. Ability Metals in Pickering is another good spot, it is just south of Tightlines on Brock Rd.

I will also be needing some aluminum to rebuild my boat over the next couple of months so hopefully you will get lots of responses here and I can price around.

    Good Luck

  4. The problem with the Norton removal tool is that it's designed to leave stuff on the registry. The registry is not a cool thing to play with unless you know what you're doing or follow directions explicitly.

This will clean it out.: http://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_can_i_ful..._my_system.html

    Hey Roy

Thanks for the site, I feel so much better now that Norton is gone.

Funny thing is the site you sent me too runs you through how to get rid of it and then at the bottom it tells you the newest and better way. LOL

Anyhoo, it worked as far as I can see and it was quite easy.

    Thanks again.

  5. As a lot of people are suggesting, I highly recommend the Remington 870 Express Mag.

I have owned this gun for a long time now and it has never let me down, it is rugged and can be used for pretty much anything.

I was told when I bought mine that the action on the 870 Express is the same as the higher end Remingtons and it is an awesome action, never had any trouble with it.

I use mine for Duck and Deer only but thats because I found that it was a little too heavy for Partridge on the wing.

I now use a 22 with a peep sight for Partridge, when they flush, I just watch where they land and stalk them to within 20 or 30 yds and pop...

Anyway good luck and here is a good site for some info on the Remington 870

  6. Photoz....use anything BUT Norton. It can slow your computer down to molasses. Installing some of the 'freebee' stuff is not harder than installing Norton. You just download the installation file rather than having it on a disc.

It will be hard to completely rid yourself of Norton, but there are easy-to-use tools that do it.

If you've not received links for the removal tools but tonite I will send them along to you...off to work in a few minutes right now.

    Hi Rick

I too would like to get rid of all traces of Norton on my PC.

If you do find those removal tools, please post or send to me as well.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  7. I didn't get a chance to get out Deer Hunting this year and I would really like to get out with my 30-06 and see if it still shoots straight.

Does anyone know where there is a 100 yard range in the general area of Pickering that I can go to?

I used to go to Cold Creek up near Nobleton but that has been shut down for quite some time now.

Any help from all the shooters on this site would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  8. I called the Whitby store (905-668-5828) at 4:15 pm to try a special order and they told me the only store with any available is North Bay (705-472-3000).

Apparently they have two in stock.

    Too far to go??

The lady also told me that the stores will not be re-ordering the item.

    Good Luck

  9. Thanks Wayne,

I missed that link to the story so there it is a real collection which I didn't doubt but the NY part is dressing for the imagination.

Heck of a nice assembly of cars! Wouldn't we all love to have a barn full like that? :thumbsup_anim:

The biggest problem would be which car to start working on first and how do you get it out. LOL

  10. Subject: What Was In The Barn?

A New York man retired. He wanted to use his retirement money wisely, so it would last, and decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal.

The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15yrs.; the owner and wife both had died, and there were no heirs.

The house was sold to pay taxes.

There had been several lookers, but there was a large barn that had steel doors, and they had been welded shut. Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway......so, nobody made an offer on the place.

The NY guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth, moved in, and set about to tear in to the barn.......curiosity was killing him.

So, he and his wife bought a generator, and a couple of grinders.......and cut thru the welds.

    What was in the barn...............?

    Go to:

Go to; www.intuh.net/barnfinds/afa70.htm and start wishing it was you who had bought the place.

    Oh yeah

Click on the index for some more tidbits on this article.

Thanks Bly for pointing that out.

  11. Small Game license is correct and Canadian Tire for sure, that's where I always get mine.

Call Jim Novakowski at 905 240 0087 (Oshawa area) and if he does not teach the course you are looking for, he will be able to tell you where or who...

    Good Luck

  12. If it is indeed such a "rough ride" wouldn't that increase the odds of the boat (rivets) leaking with all the pounding it takes?

I have heard a lot of negatives on this board and a few others in regards to the Legend name.

I figure that if the boat is safe, I won't find anything as good for the money.

Perhaps that is not the case.

By the way BigCliff, what is a Pike Hull??

  13. Well the price may be ok,and within its range...but i will let you in on a big secret.:unsure::dunno: ..i sold my v-149 widebody legend last year, and i will tell you why...its a nice wide boat ,lots of room but because of that it takes away from the DEEP-V...IT IS A VERY ROUGH RIDING BOAT...because the hull is basicly flat for most of the boat  ,i didnt notice that when i bought the boat new...but it didnt take long to find out the hard way,so dont let me try to discourage you from buying it but i would like you to know this....i fish on lots of different waters and including the great lakes...so i need a good deep-v hull for those applications....but if you are going to stay on small waters you will prob be ok....so good-luck,and happy fishing

Thanks so much for the info.

What size motor did you have on her and how did she run?

Looking at the pics now, I can see that she is pretty flat.

Oh well, I will know better after the weekend.

Do you have any pics and how easy was it to sell?

Sorry about the hundred questions but that is what I like about this site, info about everything under the sun. lol.

  14. New oil and oil filter would make me wonder why someone would go to the trouble if they were planning on selling it.... Apart from that, it's a little hard to tell from the pictures but I would think $2000.00 is a heck of a good deal for a package that isn't even 10 years old. My boat and motor are almost 20 years old and I don't have a trailer and I wouldn't even consider selling it for $2000.00.

The deal is that someone did not pay their bills at a certain marina and said marina sold the boat to a friend of a friend who used it for a bit and bored with it.

It has been sitting outside for two seasons, albeit covered up, the gas needs to be replaced, all the wood is rotten or rotting and it definitely needs some TLC which I am quite willing to give it.

The trolling motor has been removed from the front of the bow and the bracket is still there but the foot control has been cut off (badly I might add) and is lying on the floor in the front of the boat.

The boat has all the papers in order and looks to be on the up and up.

The skeg and prop are in perfect shape and other than a few dings and scratches on the cowl, the motor seems fine.

I was told to look for paint coming off the block, a sign that it has overheated but it is like new under the cowl.

I guess I will know better after the weekend.

Thanks to all of you for your replies.
