  1. Lucky Strike and Mooshine for bulk spoons. Panther Martin for bulk spinners. Hareline-Dubbin for all fly tying supplies. You can get a wholesale account with them if you are tying professionally. Northwoods Wholeoutlet (Michigan) -- these guys are great. They recently saved me $30 per reel on a 6-pack of $87 MSRP reels. Lower than anyother place I have found. If you call them and get a quote you get it much cheaper than the price they show in their online catalog. Good old fashion sporting goods supplier. FishUSA (Ohio) for all the small miscellaneous items eBay when the price, with shipping, is favorable. I avoid CABELAS -- high priced, but I do occasionally by some rods from them because they offered a lifetime warranty (and do stand behind the warranties, no questions asked).
  2. Moosebunk, Awesome report -- as usual (you seem to have a gift for capturing and sharing great reports). When were on on the Nipigon? See you had 4 ft of ice. Just trying to get a sense on ice out there this year? Headed there last week of May for specks assuming ice is out.
  3. Thanks for sharing. May we all catch and release one like that someday!
  4. Went to Onaman's last year for first time for the specks. Was not disappointed. Going back again this year and foreseeable future. You can count on Rob and his dad for on-the-mark practical advice, but don't expect much beyond that. He runs a lean staff and is best for folks that do not want or need hand holding. Fantastic Nipigon fishery, but I would not drive the distance for the inland lakes. If you are looking at early season on Lake Nipigon I would choose this end of the lake as prevailing winds tend to give an earlier warm up to these NE shores. If you pm me with questions I can share more or would be glad to talk with you over the phone.
