  1. Mine means the obsession of strictly fishing for the eyes. If somebody does convince me to fish anything else, I don't give it a full effort like I do for the eyes for some strange reason. I should change my name to "Eye_Pride"

  2. On the wish list for the future will be a Zwilling J.A. Henckels fillet knife. Only thing I dislike is that they don't come in a case like the rapala knives. Im pretty sure they are all lifetime warranty too. We have Zwilling knives in the home that are almost 20 years old and still being used. This site actually sells them for half the price compared to what I saw in the mall.

  3. I bought a 9" Old Timer (Schrade) with a green rubber handle --- it felt really good in the hand. The first time I cut myself with it, I thought I was careless, the second time, same thing. I used my regular 7" Rapalas and Normarks in between and had no problem. Tried the Old Timer again... same thing. The 9" blade was just too long for me to handle properly, it seems. I gave the knife to my brother.

Your experience might differ from mine.

Really eh? I have yet to use a 9", but my 7" just seems too short when i'm filleting even 13-15" pickeral. Maybe I will borrow somebody elses to try before I make the purchase. Thanks for the heads up!

  4. .. and sometimes we use a 45" Musky for bait!!! ;)

I believe thats a alligator gar. I watched a show on sunday where dave mercer was fishing for them somewhere in texas. He said they grow to like 7'.

  5. I don't see a prize, for "the wildest ride" caught on video !

That little bass I caught while out on a kayak last year pulled me all over the narrow section of the Maitland river...

i can't imagine the thrill of being yanked around by something bigger on more open water..

Maybe give the winner of the wildest ride, an anchor or a drift sock ? B)

    Have fun guys.

My friends dad got taken for a ride in a half by a muskie when he was in a canoe, eventually the muskie spooled him.

  6. Perhaps rather than flame someone on this forum that "maybe" didn't do a good job for you, "maybe" you should have got an explanation from them first?

    Just a thought.........

Well of course he is not going to admit that he didn't do the work. Just looking out for fellow OFNers and making sure they don't get ripped off like I did and others did.

  7. That guy at Bay city needs to cheer up, he makes me feel like I'm annoying him whenever I'm in there. Another thing, I'm almost positive he didn't even winterize my motor last winter, because she barely smoked when I fired her up. I'm not the only one he has charged and not done the work. Maybe this post will be a wake up call. :dunno:
