  1. I have always gone up North with USD most stores have the ability to make change and price adjustments for USD. If you get way up North and will be using mom and pop type stores they are less likely to have USD and will return CAD if they need to. The smaller companies also may not be using the most current exchange rates like the big box or chain stores do.

  2. I replaced my cables with this unit which was really much easier than trying to feed the cables through the chase. It has no feedback and has performed flawlessly for 8 years now. It also will allow you to vary the length of the run so it fits perfectly. Once a cable goes stiff it is because it is full of bits of rust and frayed cable. You can lubricate it temporarily but when it breaks it is a long trip back to the dock.    https://www.westmarine.com/dometic-baystar-outboard-steering-system-3400934.html

  3. Welcome, Fishing takes a lifetime to learn and it will also teach you many valuable lessons. Part of it is reading but the big part is to find someone who fishes and see if you can barter a trip with them. I started off hanging out at a local boat ramp and fishing from the dock. Looking at what people have on their rods when they pull in kind of lets you get familiar with different baits and ask them if they had any luck. if someone seems friendly and answers your questions you might ask them if they would like to have you fish with them from their boat. Tell them a little about yourself and offer to bring them a great lunch and chip in for fuel. That is how I met my mentor who gave me 30 years of companionship, wisdom and morality that has served me well.

  4. The rating standards for this product is NSF P231

NSF P231 certified water filters deliver up to a six-factor purification of cysts, bacteria and viruses, which they remove at the following rates:

    99.9999 percent of bacteria

    99.99 percent of viruses

    99.9 percent of cysts

This does not remove chemicals such as petroleum or other types of chemicals that could be in the water. This being said the best filtration is distillation rather than filtration. A reverse osmosis system would be my second choice to produce drinking water. The issue with filtration is it takes the easiest path of resistance and as you use the filter it will develop a path through the carbon and the contact time is minimal. Since the penalty of bad water and the distance from medical help should be weighed in what is the best path for you to consider.

  5. We seem to have gone from arguing facts to pressing our opinions. Everyone can have their own opinion. The one you hold works for you so it is the correct answer for you. Others have different life styles and need that are directly opposite of what works for you. So either we respect others views without condoning them or we lock the thread.

  6. With all of the things going on in the world we have found that we needed another set of hands here at OFC. We have asked a long time friend and active member of the board to help out. Misfish or Brian has stepped up to the plate and has accepted the position of Administrator to help us deal with the management and problem solving issues that pop up occasionally. We want everyone to give a warm welcome to Brian and to know he is here to help with any issues that you might have.

  7. You remind me of when I was a kid I had a creepy crawler maker with the hot plate and the melted plastics that I still have scars from. The joy of pouring them and the steam when you dipped them in water to kind of cool them off. The smells and the end result were what drove me to make another one. Very nice work on the bugs

  8. Welcome Kashan we are glad you are here. I started fishing when i was 4 years old. I would go fishing with my Dad or Uncles in the Bayous of Louisiana. I remember my Uncle Bennie when asked if the fish I caught was to small to keep and he said " if it has 2 eyes it is big enough." We would often catch Crappie and Bluegills and have a fish fry with the neighbors.

    Cheers
