i could swear i saw a post here a while back that walks through the process of making your own fluorocarbon leaders. i cant find it. does anyone remember what it was titled?

Thanks Garry,
I figure parts like floats and seals will have to be replaced. Me and my old man should be more than capable of giving it an overhaul...
once its been tuned up it should run smoothly shouldnt it?
You may hear from me if i run into any big problems.
-

CCMT, i was thinking something along $400, keeping in mind there is a LOT of work to be done.

Hey all...
I'm buying a boat from a freind and need to make him an offer but have no clue what it should go for.
the boat itself is a 14' aluminum, pretty beat up. probably needs a new finishing and maybe some rivet work.
the motor is an OLD Johnson 10hp. its one of the old green ones with the oldschool wings on the side
LOL.
he was told it worked when he got the boat a few years back but hasnt touched it since and he cant get it to turn over now.
anyways...
he said its mine, but i have to name a fair price. Any idea what you would consider fair for this fixer-uper??
thanks for the input.

I just bought a pair of Hugo Boss polarized glasses with a titanium frame (hopefully this will increase the normal life expectancy for my glasses) and they work great! tested them out at lake o yesterday.
They set me back about $200 but well worth it, I compared them to my old polarized glasses ($20pair) and the difference was very noticeable.
the store i bought them at had a huge selection of polarized glasses from Rayban that ranged in price from around $25 to $150. I went to pacific mall at steeles and kennedy, LOTS of optical shops there all willing to bargain!
check it out if your in the area

thats what i figured...
did you guys have a hard time finding minnows up there?
-
what presentation was working for ya?
Im heading up that way tomorrow...
-
Take care and awaiting the report.
thanks for the tips Tapout, report to follow...
-
Stay away from the ice lines...the regular mono works just fine.
Keep active on your rods and set lines ensuring that you are constantly jig-jig-pausing and also that you check the minnows on the set lines regularly to make sure they are lively or a Perch hasn't stolen them...you should have lots of success!
Tony
thanks for all the info Tony, i'll put it to good use.

do i really need to buy ice fishing line? or will my regular mono or braided spiderwire do the job?

im fishing nippising this weekend if that makes any difference. any other tips/suggestions are appreciated.
