  1. Hey all,

Had a pretty good flood at the house. Insurance contractors ripped the place up pretty good to dry it out.

I am not very good at electrical, actually not a fan of it at all to be honest.

They tore down half of the ceiling on the main floor. I have a family member who has offered me some pot lights for free basically and before they come in to drywall the ceiling again I would like to install them.

My Question - Is it possible to put in pot lights in the rest of the ceiling that is not torn down? If so, is it really hard to do. ie. snaking the wire etc? I looked online but didn't really get any solid advice.

Added a picture, not the best but the area I am asking about is to the left in the picture where the drywall is still up.

    Thanks,

    Phil

  2. Still don't think they would work worth beans on slower froggy water though.

Maybe the Credit, Ganny etc but can't see it on the lower Willy or Bowmanville S bends. ;)

ha! Can't fish anything else but a 28" ice rod in those spots now anyways.

My bro and I use baitcasters on the Ganny and some parts of Duffins. I prefer a spin or pin tho.

  3. The concept, though not new, makes sense IMO.

I can picture alot of water these rigs should shine. We'll see, I'll have some video of it soon targeting some other species.

Looking forward to throwing it on Lake Ontario and Simcoe for smallies and deep largies.

As for the bog Sinclair, there are a few areas these could rock, especailly for them green smallies.

There is a smaller version I have that I think the Perch will eat up, especailly on Simcoe. we'll see.

  4. I use 95% one piece for bass, walleye etc..

One of my favourite rods broke and the only replacement I could find was a 2pc. It is a jerk bait rod and I really can not tell the difference.

  5. perfect, I'll be at the show

have you played with them first hand? how do they feel? and what would the pricing be on these guys?

No I haven't had the chance to hold one yet unfortunately, but those I know who have are really "excited" about them.

still working out the pricing, will PM you once it is all arranged.

I have comfirmed they will be at the TO show.

    Good Fishing!

  6. Don was commenting on Ron's interview earlier in the evening where Burke said that its tough to play against teams at home because the visitors have so many local players that want to do well in front of fans and family.

    Yes sir.

I read an article today that mentioned Burke has whined to media brass before and not just at cbc.

  7. Strong arm should be on the rod. More power, better aim.

Using the wrong hand on the reel feels like you are writing with the wrong hand, it takes practice.

I switched over quite a few years ago now. With some practice I noticed a huge difference. For the first while I only pitched and flipped left handed and casted right. Now it is all left.

Most guys like KVD, never switched because back in the day you could only really get right hand baitcasters. Sometimes it is hard to teach an old dog new.... you know...

Those that switch hands after each cast, pitch, flip are probably very comfortable doing it, but for myself switching from right to left was well worth it.

    For what it's worth.

  8. I would skip a wacky rigged senko or weightless tube around the dock. I would then use a square billed crankbait and work the channel and the edge of the pads beside the channel. I would toss a wakebait beside the pads near shore and finally hit the middle of the pads with my livetarget frog.

Start off fast (Spinnerbait, jerk bait) then slow down and pick apart the structure. I've caught more big bass off busy marina docks then I care to imagine...

Chris, I still need to grab some of those wakebaits for Simcoe this year! Who made them?

Wakebaits eh, something on the "to try" list this year! The Livetarget BlueGill and Pumpkinseed look pretty sweet.

    Wouldn't fish it.

I'd find a lake a little less populated and leave that one for the pros.

I figured the opposite for you Mike! Let the crowd pound this obvious spot and follow them up with a float. .5lb leader and a single egg. ;)

  9. I would recommend going with a 7'6. I personally like the longer rod especially for topwater junk fishing.

I've used a lot of different rods over the years. Last year I used an Okuma EVx 7'6 Flipping Stick for frog fishing and I'll use the same thing this year. They worked great and held up to a good workout. The $90 price tag is nice too.

  10. I was thinking this spot looks ideal.

Seems like a deeper channel, docks are parallel to the shoreline. The pad bed is the only real overheard cover beside the floating dock. It is not at the back end of the channel so there is a better chance fish can move in from the big lake.

Roy is right I think, mid summer - dry grass. Mid-day - no shadows and quiet. Probably during the week, ha.

That pad bed would be loaded. I would approached parallel to the shore line and work that pad bed as stealthy as a I could. I'd pick it apart flipping and pitching while keeping a distance working my way from the edge to the middle.

Then I'd move over to the floating dock and skip way up underneath it. That's where the big gal should be.

That heron is a dead give away for me. My experience has showed when a heron is in an area like this something is around chasing out perch/sunfish etc. When I see one on a dock, I usually get a good fish on it.

So when I spotted the heron in the picture I thought is would be fun to start a thread like this here.

If you see a heron around, fish it hard.

PS. Anyone know where this is? lol
