1. Those big arse swim baits were designed for Western US lakes where largies feed on stocked trout. Mostly in California I beleive.

That being said, I've heard of a few incideantal largies caught by toothy anglers but yet to hear of someone patterning this bait for largies here.

Now swimbaits in the 5 to 8" are killer for largies here. Cast them out and reel them in like you would a spinnerbait.

  2. I didn't mean because of the boat. 4ft of Milfoil I totally agree with you on that one, but the guy who really burned my bacon was pitching and flipping under docks. I haven't fished a lifetime but I've never caught a walleye under a dock with no surrounding veg before.

I would think you are correct in your assumptions. Good thing is poachers are creatures of habit.... he'll be back. Take some photos and when you have them PM me and I'll give you a number to send them to.
  3. Bass boat means nothing. It's like saying everyone who drives a Porshe is a good driver and knows all the rules on the road. Complete nonsence.

Any dolt with $50k can buy a boat.

Some of my favourite water is the thickest milfoil and in less then 4ft for walleye on the Kawarthas.

  4. This is incorrect. The weir was funded by the Great Lakes Fishery Commission.

Thanks for the clarification Chris, I don't recall hearing that at the presentation by the MNR. Is the installation still scheduled for late summer this year inbetween Hwy 2 and Brock Rd? Will there be a realease of sorts for the media?

  5. They forgot to mention the $250,000 for the wier being put in Duffins to display the success of the Atlantic stocking program.

At a $25 avg license fee, that is approx. 10,000 anglers in Ontario who bought this thing.

  6. No doubt Cabelas is coming. They are going to really sting the local shops IMO. Thy focus on more products geared to the Canadian angler then BPS.

Consumers may welcome American corporations, but Canadians competiting with small businesses sure don't.
