ive been dreaming of this lately...hopefully just a salmon any salmon will eat my fly on the swing soon!

 

Congrats i couldnt even imagine the fight.

The fight was awesome, 20 minutes, the fish made me feel like I was in control of it, and then it would take off, and make me realize that it was in control and there wasn't much I could do. At the end, he accidently beached himself, so ran down and grabbed on, got him flipped around, then got the beaver tail treatment, was covered head to toe in mud

Thank OI, I was sure my line was going to break since I don't use heavy tippets maybe 8lb at most

New PB on the fly rod, and possibly all tackle PB. an absolute beast, super thick, strong as all get out, i could barely get my hand half way around its tail, and im 6'4, my arms are tired. he did not give in til he beached himself, and even then, he tried to beaver tail his way back, giving me a mud shower in the process, was covered head to toe with mud! but, what a great fish

I can almost see the oh crap look on your face and the full throttle ride back to the dock lol

When he reached heaven and asked, “God, why did you not save me? I believed in you with all my heart. Why did you let me drown?” God replied, “I sent you a pick-up truck, a boat and a helicopter and you refused all of them. What else could I possibly do for you?”

They were ordered to be scrapped, someone apparently snuck away one of them and it hidden somewhere, then there was the rumour of a missing prototype

I was out last night, my buddys were catching small bows on their floats but it was a challenge to get them to take a fly. they were nipping but wouldnt commit.

 

the spot seems very promising for salmon once they really start running.

I have no problem sharing. I use a 9ft 8wt rod, set the drag loose, so that the bend of the rod pulls it when the hook is in the holder. Then I use my hand on the reel to add pressure as needed. Tippett size I find is dependent on water clarity. Super clear water, down size, like I said above, I was using 6lb fluorocarbon tapered leader. Using a Spey fly, or intruder style fly, just target a section of the pool at a time, just strip it it across the pool, careful not to foul hook. You'll also get strikes when it rolls off the backs of other fish.

Be patient, have fun, be ready to let the drag go at the bite or hook set. With proper gear, and a good hook set, you can control the fish easy enough, just have to wait out the initial runs and jumps and be prepared to give chase, don't get caught in a spot you can't easily move out of

I wanna try swinging salmon streamers this fall.

They are, I started with 10lb, then 8lb and finally 6lb they stopped swimming around my line. The more fish that move in a pool the more spooked they get. So you don't really want them swimming around your line

right on! cant wait to possibly get a couple of these on the fly.

They are a ton of fun, big streamers are my go to for aggressive fish

I hadn't seen any but they are running in the saugeen which is just south of the sauble

Yea, we see to go to the falls on the way to my grandparents just to watch the fish jump......and maybe see some bears

Niagara....... the grand, tons of spots to choose from on either of those, all depends how far you want to drive, but by the sounds of it, not far at all.

After a long day, and a longer week at work, I headed out for some much needed alone time on the creek. Water was crystal clear, so that meant light line, had to drop down to 6lb tippet to avoid them swimming around my line. My skills were put to the test. tied on a self made spey fly, and headed to my favourite pool

targetting the fish at the back end of the pool, this guy came from 10ft away from the front of the pool to smash my fly! fish on!

so......you're trying to tell me all those refineries in Sarnia aren't operating, imperial oil, Esso, Sunoco and shell, that are producing over 200,000 barrels per day are not operational.........someone should those workers to go home then

Not sure what trailer, but a mini van could reliably haul 4 guys, gear and a couple hundred dekes.

 

As for using his truck for commercial purposes, there's a reason 99% of contractors doing the work he does will choose a 3/4 or 1 ton. An empty 6x10 dump is around 2500 lbs and likely around towing capacity full of green wood and IIRC the lightest skidder is around 2500 lbs, which is practically a useless kids toy and I can't see him using this for logs. Goign cheap will catch up with him sooner or later.

considering hes puts 250k on it in the 2.5 years hes had it, i'd say its done him pretty good so far

was trying to find a way to do it from mobile, and i can't, kind of ridiculous. you may have to find another way to do it, flickr, dropbox, or, upload your images to the site and share that way. unless someone more tech savvy than me has an answer
