Start eating more pork, if you watch you can get those whole cryovac packaged pork loins for $1.48 a pound, beef anymore , except for burger is out of this pensioners snack bracket.

theres a couple of suspect items that i saw here, the double stuffed pork chop?  how do you cook that and flip it with out the stuffing falling out?, the stuffed pork chops should have the pocket cut on the other side, not through the fat layer.  i didn't see any butterfly chops, and those country styles are simply half a rib end pork chop.  another use for the rib end, use it to make a pulled pork.

as for misfishs question, i disagree with this whole meatless concept, it is purely a money grab as someone else stated.  i read somewhere that these burgers are very similar to dog food ? not sure how accurate this is.  im no longer in the meat business so im a little out of touch with these things

A lot of heavy drug use in the bush around the creek.  Desperate drug addicts don't care who they hurt to get their next fix.  The Methadone clinic is about 200 meters from the creek down there and the bike path that follows the creek makes a great highway for people that want to stay off the main street and out of sight.  The bush surrounding the creek is a Rabbit's warren and there are increasingly bigger tent cities growing in it.  Those tent cities attract drug users and those violent people that want to prey on drug users.

If you look at the link below the problem is severe enough that the city has converted mailboxes to accept used needles.  3 of the locations are along the creek.

And its not just your stereotypical junkie either.  Our former neighbour who was doing well in life, owned her home and had at least 12 yrs into a mortgage that we lived next to her, worked downtown in the TD IT dept.  Died of an OD days after getting out of rehab.  She wasn't a violent predator, but I'm sure she had violent predators at her house by the looks of some of the characters I saw before we moved.

was this just within the last month?  my g/f cousin just passed from an od and this sounds very very familiar to her circumstances

Thanks for the replying. Chad right?

That smoker looks like it,s been worked over pretty good. I am thinking I could build a plywood box and line it with reflex insulation. Would that work the same? The wrap they use on water heaters and hot water pipes. Maybe I am over thinking outside the box.

    And that ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Looks awesome.

    Haha no, not chad

The smoker was my dad's for 20years before he gave it to me

He used stainless because it won't rot out in the elements.

Pork belly burnt ends, salt them over night, cube them up, smoker for 4 to 5 hours, then bbq for an hour and a half in a mixture of your favourite bbq sauce, little bit of honey, and butter.  It's like pork candy0

awesome ! can this smoker be used for ribs as well cuz that would be wicked !

I absolutely have used mine for ribs, and pork belly and smoked burgers.  It can't be used as a cold smoke, because of the heating element being in the unit.  Cold smoking requires smoke only.

These are the ribs I did in mine last week.  I cook them in a bbq sauce mixture with butter and honey on the bbq after words to make them sticky and delicious

  5. The last couple of springs have not been kind to me for steelhead, precisely zero spring steel.

I almost though about not going out this year, but could not resist the weather.  Started off small, had another jump out of my hands, and then the beauty silver bullet today.

Oshawa pier could be dangerous if ice covered. The water there is at least 20-30' deep with huge rollers and it's a long way down from the pier to the water level, with few ladders. This year it is also under construction but in truth it is no worse than Bronte pier or 16 Mile pier most times. Those stupid handrails make getting to the side a pain . The old marina has always been a trespass as are the marshaling yards just north of the pier itself. For those that don't know it is also verboten to fish off 16 Mile Pier after dark even in the summer months. No lights is the reasoning. Bronte pier(s) are both legal anytime but comon sense is required especially if the water gets as high as it did this spring/summer.

Have you not seen the guys that fish the port hope lighthouse??? You want to talk dangerous, look there first

this was a nuisance fine, not a trespassing fine

  7. If possible, stay with the boat.  Always wear your pfd with a plastic whistle attached.  Always stay within view of shore, if your boat does go down, make your way to shore.

get some expanding foam pumped up under the seats for extra floatation. And if you want to get creative, pool noodles around the lip

waters can get rough just from boat traffic alone, can be dead calm wind, but rough waters.   Those that boat in the st Clair river can appreciate that.
