Fortunately we don't have any rats around here Pete but the killing process with your pooch sounds about the same LOL

I keep bird feeders on the front lawn in the winter and there's always a few squirrels hanging around it to grab whatever falls on the ground. I just happened to be looking out the window watching the birds a couple years back and saw a fox sneaking up the driveway and when he got 20' from the squirrels he turned on the afterburners and covered the 20' in a couple jumps and grabbed a squirrel from behind and shook him hard and that was it. He grabbed that little squirrel and killed him so fast he didn't know what hit him.

Life isn’t bubble wrapped and crap happens.
I'm sure everyone has heard about the recent nonsense in Toronto where the so-called powers that be have actually banned tobogganing in 45 parks because someone may get injured sliding down a hill having fun the way kids have done forever.
Tough to even comprehend how some of these people made it to adulthood.

I agree with you 100% Terry, Emergency Service are in business for a reason and that reason is to help people when they get in trouble, whether it's through carelessness, misadventure, bad luck or just plain being stupid.
Every year people get injured or killed doing crazy stuff and most times Emergency Service is there to help but it doesn't mean they also need to be punished for whatever they did.

I don't think it's your post Rick as I said it happened to my wife on an email and I had it again on Facebook.

Thanks Bill, just ignore the message ??
Funny too, my wife is heading south in a couple weeks and she had her plane ticket emailed to her today and when she opened it she got the message.

Four times this morning when I open the post from RickOnt about buying live bait I get this warning from Malware but not anywhere else.
I've run virus checks with Malware Bytes, and Microsoft Defender and then ran CCleaner and everything comes back fine.
Do I have an issue here somewhere ?

My bud lived over in Norwood across the road from a farm that raised beef and sheep and every spring when the lambs & calves were born they were overrun with coyotes trying to get them.

If no one else does, the deer will thank me!
Coyotes ripped apart a young fawn 100 feet from my back door a few years back.

I was over by Chemong Lake this afternoon and saw a couple ice huts out on the lake about a mile north of the Causeway. Couldn't actually tell if they were potables or not but at least a few guys are doing it.

Well I am 78 (or will be tommorow) travel insurance for me is probably about as much as the cost of the trip (if I can even get it)
If you ever need travel insurance Cliff, check out CAA. My wife is only a couple years younger than you and she's going to Cuba in a couple weeks and got full coverage for $300
A good friend of mine is a retired travel agent and he says CAA is excellent.

Hey Cliff,
Be careful not to let it run too low. Lithium batteries can overheat when the voltage gets too low and the cells can catch on fire when charging if the voltage is off on any one cell. Make sure to charge it out of the house somewhere safe.
I use lithium batteries (LiPo) in my RC planes and had this happen a few years back. It ended up being a $65,000 insurance claim for smoke damage to my home. I was really lucky that I was charging them in an amo box on top of some bricks, otherwise my house would have burnt to the ground.
Be safe!
Somebody took an electric bike with a lithium battery onto a Toronto subway train couple weeks back and thing caught fire but fortunately everyone got off OK

I saw a show awhile back where they were saying the F18's are so outdated they can't be retrofitted with the most up to date electronics to work in conjunction with the America F18's but didn't go into any details on the problems.

Really good story Barry and some great pictures too. That guy looks huge and those antlers could sure make a mess of someone if he decided to use them.

Simcoe ice rescue

My brother was a volunteer fireman and they got a call one night from a lady saying she could hear cry's for help out on the ice. My brother and 3 other guys took a ladder and walked out to the voice and found 2 men who had fallen through the ice. They laid the ladder across the hole and were able to save one man but the other fella was dead.
Ed said it was a sad situation but also said they could hear the ice cracking as they were walking out and no way anybody should have been out there.
