  1. Hey Shore, I own the larger version of this hut and I love it. Ours is the 4-6 man size (3 guys comfortably). I think they are good (value) huts. They are easy to transport as they are light weight and have the added convenience of a floor to keep your toes warm. :thumbsup_anim:

    Good investment in my opinion.

  2. Got mine on Ebay last year. They work great. I will suggest that you buy a digital food scale (Walmart) to avoid overfilling the tanks.. The empties weigh 13.5 oz and you add the 16 oz of fuel for a total of 29.5 oz. Make sure you freeze the empties before filling them.

Here is the link to the one I bought on Ebay.

If you can get it locally as Terry has said, get it. I was under the impression that they are not legal to sell up here. Thats why I ended up buying it on Ebay.

    Cheers.

  3. May I make a suggestion? With the auger on the back of the bike the tires have a tendency to throw snow up onto the head of the auger sometimes causing the recoil to freeze ( running through loose powder or slush) ...only happened once to me and we were not able to start it as the recoil and throttle controls were completely frozen with slush....Since then I just cover my auger head with a bag (reuseable shopping bag)and a elastic velcro strap and it keeps the head debris free ....works like a charm...that's a nice setup ...enjoy

Thanks for that tip Suds. I will get a cover for the auger head for sure. Cant wait for the Lake to freeze up good so we can give it a good test!! :clapping:

  4. Bassassin, you may want to rethink the whole three wheeler thing. I was like you, looking to spend a grand or less and the only way to go was an 80's three wheeler. I took one out on the snow and almost instantly got stuck. I ended up buying a four wheel drive ATV and it still is dicey out there when there is snow. You will need an ownership and insurance if you move it off your own property.

  5. So I have finally finished my ATV rig for ice fishing. My son and I really got into it late last year so I decided to get the ATV ready for this year. I added a two up seat (I know it may not legal, but I will take my chances on the lake)I made up a new basket for the front that hold two Rubbermaid roughnecks and my Mr. heater. I added a thumb warmer and hot grips as well.

The ice auger was a challenge but I made a metal bracket to hold it on the back of the ATV secularly. The minnow bucket fits on the back of the two up seat where the gas can usually goes, perfectly. There is tons of storage to hold my essential items such as shovel, tackle and tip ups. I can’t wait for the ice to be safe (soon I hope!!!!) to take this machine out for some lakers, whities and perch.

Thought I would share it with all of you. Hope to see everyone on Lake Simcoe soon!! :thumbsup_anim::thumbsup_anim::thumbsup_anim:

    Cheers.

  6. This is a little off topic, and I know I might get in trouble for it, but anyways...

Why is everyone referring to left and right hand side of the boat? I mean - we are talking about boats here, so port and starboard side should be discussed... Not sure if it's just me, but I just think it sounds really wrong using the wrong terms onbard a boat/ship...

Should we be referring to it as driver's side or passenger side? LOL

  7. Hi guys. Just bought a new Minn Kota Fortrex 80 for my boat to replace my old PD55. I'm really looking forward to the extra push the 80 will give me. It is going to be mounted the bow of the Alumicraft boat I have where the old motor now sits. The motor was mounted by the place I bought it from a few years ago on the right side of the boat. Most of the boats I see have it mounted on the left.

Does it matter which side it is mounted on? :dunno: It doesn't say much about the mounting in the installation manual so I thought it may just be a preference.

Thank-you in advance for you help. :thumbsup_anim:
