Haha!! Get someone to grind it down to shape. The balance will be off but it can still be used as a chopping or hacking knife (think squash and turnips). I use a 10 dollar Kitchen Aid Santoku knife that I bought at CT on special and it is great. Better than my CutCo chefs knife and a Henkels that I have. It holds a half decent edge that I touch up with my shrpening steel. It is shorter and very handy. Mind you, everyone else likes their own knives up at the cottage.

A hemi RAM doing 11.5/100k!! Hard to believe. Maybe doing 100 on the nose with no wind whatsoever. But, HEMI power comes at a price - at the pumps. The Ecodiesel is pretty impressive. Stump pulling torque, great fuel economy, resale,etc.. the only drawback, it is a bit slow on acceleration. Not bad mind you, but slower than what we are getting accustomed to which is a whole other can of worms.

Merry Christmas Lew!! All the best to you and your family. I hope the Mrs is doing much better and enjoy the season.

A new fish finder for the boat. Mine is dying.

Chicago is my kinda town. You wont regret going there. 8-9 hrs. The magnificent mile downtown is cool. Lots of places to go.

If you can find a deal on a used 4 stroke it could be worth your while, otherwise you could upgrade to a newer used boat with a 4 stroke hanging off the back. Repowering is expensive and you have to weigh it out as to whether it is worth it or not. As for parts, there are a couple of boneyards out there for boats. Might be worth checking out. There is one place in Honey Harbour, he has tons of bits and pieces. The name escapes me though.

I remember those SCs, they were a nice car back in the day. One of the first to go with platinum plugs. My eyes popped when I saw how much they cost as compared to regular Autolites.

Gas is a by product of refining. The refiners do not make a lot of money off it. Diesel and kerosene however, are the major drivers of their profits. Come spring, oil will drop significantly Asthe demand for heating oil eases. The long term forecasts are showing a relatively warm January with daytime highs around -5 or so, that will drive the perceived and real demand for heating oil down. Oil has had its day in the commodity markets, as well as other resources, time for the next hot thing for 10 years. That my friends, I cannot tell you as my crystal ball is cracked and the future is cloudy.....

Check out one or two of the bimmer forums out there. It may be an easy diy fix that could save you a couple hundred bbucks that you could spend on tackle......just saying.

Here we go again. Every year at the beginning of winter, a heated debate about making snow tires mandatory.
What should be outlawed is summer tires as of Nov 1. Most of the stupidity seen in the mid november snowstorm was people who had not changed over to their snow tires. All season tires are fine IF and ONLY IF they have a relatively aggressive tread pattern to clear snow. High performance all seasons are not much of a compromise. Quebec is not a good comparison because most of the population there lives in a snow belt area. How many times a winter does Montreal get hammered with snow?? Are snow tires worth the extra expense, maybe, maybe not. It could be argued until the cows come home. I do not have snows on my vehicles. If it is really icy or really bad out, I will just stay home and wait it out. A set of snow tires is not going to protect me from the idiots driving like maniacs in their 4x4s and SUVs. Drive according to the conditions and your skills.

Sweet Daddy Siki!!! Haha!! Black Jack Mulligan. Superstar 1 and 2, Rick Flair, Ricki Steamboat and Chief Jay Youngblood, Abdullah the Butcher, the Anderson Brothers, Big Swede Hanson, Angelo King Kong Mosca, The Iron Sheikh, Jim Brunzel (i remember when Brunzel pulled the Sheikhs loaded boot off and beat him with it). Oh the soap opera. I lost interest in wrestling after the 2nd Wrestlemania. Loved Maple Leaf Wrestling.

So just how exactly is the government in control of your RRSP?? Are they in any more control of that any more tthan anything else, your home, your bank accounts, etc.... how else is the average Joe going to be able to save enough money to retire?? CPP and OAS will put food on the table and pay some bills but is no where near enough to get by. Not everyone has a job with a generous pension or works for the government. You have to do something to be able to retire.

I was a financial advisor for 17 years before I sold my business this year to switch gears in my life and focus on what really matters most, my health and my family. There are many good points here. For the average person working for a living, RRSPs combined with a TFSA are definitely a huge part of retirement. I also stress that consumer debt is a killer, get out of it asap. Mortgage debt is different, at the end of the day you have 4 walls you can eat or pass on to your heirs. Buy a rental property if you can muster up the down payment. The sweetest money you will make is the money made while you sleep. Someone else is paying your mortgage for you. It is work and has its ups and downs but if you buy the right property and are handy, you will do ok. When you have to pay someone to unplug a toilet, then rentals are not for you, you will end up spending more than you bring in on the property.
As for RRSPs and TFSAs, balanced investments are the way to go. You need the fixed income portion to cushion the downs and equities to provide the upside. Yes, the market tanks every few years, it has always done it, but it makes its way back up over time, our whole economy is based on this. For the doomsayers that think everything is a house of cards and it will come crashing down, it probably is BUT if our economy and way of life collapses, you could have a mattress stuffed full of cash that will only be good for lighting a fire, nothing else.
Buy monthly, ignore the noise and when the market tanks, put more money in, that it the absolute hardest thing to do but let me tell you, if you have the intestinal fortitude to do that, you will make out like a bandit if you buy into companies that are perfectly fine but get dragged down with the rest of the market.
Use your tax refund to either pay down your mortgage or fund your tfsa. Do not blow it on frivilous things.
PM me if you want to chat. I can help you out with a few ideas, FOR A PRICE, a fishing spot or two.......

Jeez, the saga continues. My thoughts and prayers will continue for that amazing gal of yours and I hope your good lady gets better soon.

Putanesca = lady of the evening's sauce. Basically olive oil, garlic, anchovies, hot chili flakes, olives, capers and smashed up tomatoes. I am not a big fan of anchovies bbut they work incredibly in this.

Greek and Italian for me. I learned over the years to make a good souvlaki and tzatziki and a killer putanesca (checkout girl's) sauce. Hitting the Danforth where Ii grew up for some greek is a fun night out with the family.

Should have said good for you selling a boat for 139k and no water test. That was very arrogant on the part of the sales man. I think they know they got hosed on that boat and that it has problems. But are trying to weasel their way out by screwing an unsuspecting customer.

You guys did the right thing in walking away. The keel is probably chewed right up by the moron previous owner running it up onto rocks.

Definitely not tracking like it should. Either the suspension OR the axle is the culprit. Take it to a trailer shop to get checked out and repaired properly.

That is no fun Cliff. Have an OFC dock building party in the spring. I am sure that for a case of foamy apple juice an a couple of pizzas, you should have no trouble in getti g a few extra pairs of hands to rebuild your dock. It was quite wild here too in Oakville last night.

I Can't beleive you guys caught that musky there!! Never would have thought to fish for skis there, you could def do it from shore. Btw, that sucks that the reel came apart like that. I would contact Abu, you never know, they may send you a new reel. A Calcutta is the cadillac of musky reels, you will never regret buying it. My TE followed by my Abu Record and then my Curado 300 in that order are my fave reels.
Karma... it is a three way street correct?
